Intriguing prospect with that size and skill set.
Borderline 3/4 star per 247 for those people who care about that sort of thing.
He also has a twin brother who is good, although not as highly rated.(Not sure if we want to go down the twins route again though. )
The Dunkley-Distant twins and Orangeville Prep will be playing at the NPSI at RIC in a few weeks if anybody is interested in watching them. I'm not sure if any of our other recruits will be there by looking at the schedule. Ramster or Steveystuds, do you see any?

Recruiting is stealth, as much as possible, here now. There are good reasons for that from a Poker playing standpoint. For sure URi is eyeing some in this event as they do most every year.
Of interest in Day 2 last year at NPSI/RIC was Mt Zion vs Orangeburg Prep
RJ Luis had 21 points. Luis just got A10 Rookie of the Week announced yesterday. Foumena had 22 points - let that sink in
I like Thursday morning, Friday mid-day and all Friday night

This is a quote from Austin Carroll from an interview he just did with Chris Disano.
Always recruiting. I’d say our recruiting shifted three or four months ago after signing Cam (Estevez) and Connor (Dubsky), we decided the high school area is pretty much taken care of for now, so focusing on JUCO and transfer portal opportunities.
Give me the relentless guy, the active guy. The guy that sees every rebound as his personal possession.
Our bigs are passive. If they are boxed out, they stay boxed out. We need a motor guy,

Saw on Twitter we offered a 4 star 2024 from Bishop Walsh.
Now can’t find the name/tweet.
Took a bit, but - 6'8" small forward Emmanuel Okitondo, originally from the Congo. No star ratings on the conventional sites just yet.
I think the 4 star was referenced on a highlight video I played off his page…so who knows what that’s worth. But I know some people, (cough cough blue!) like that sorta thing.

Must have been a slow day if that slam made Sports Center. It was pretty good, but Sports Center?
The daily "Top 10s" almost always have a couple highlights from all different levels and sports. Like some Rhode Island high school teams will make it on there for buzzer beaters. For January, you don't really have much football to use, so it doesn't surprise me that this was in there.
"Every season, college basketball has one or two teams that rise from dormancy to relevancy, squads that make long-awaited charges at the NCAA Tournament and become really fun storylines along the way."
Really intriguing prospect...his brother is a pro in Japan.
Newman is starting to come on as a regional power.
Umass heavily involved as well.
My good friend took his son to Newman for a visit and Rhody and Umass coaches were in the gym.
I've seen him listed at 6'2" on one site and 5'11" on another. I know we've discussed height listings several times before, but I'd feel better if he's closer to the 6'2".
Newman played Thursday afternoon. Toews had 10 points
Miller and 3 staff were on hand Thursday. Orangeville played Thursday and Friday. Carroll was there Friday.
Game 5 – The Newman School (MA) 45 vs. NBA Academy Africa (Senegal) 62

On the official The Newman School Roster: Luka Toews is listed Jersey #10, Class of 2024, Hometown Tokyo, Japan, Guard, 6’2”, 175

Luka is a great floor general. The few times I saw him play, he had some absolutely ridiculous assists. He is a creative passer. Very strong in the pick and roll. He will need to add a lot of bulk to his frame because D1 guards will bully him. When I first saw him I thought he looked more like a low-major player but he seems to be getting better and better...It wouldn't surprise me to see him play in the A10.
