Backdrop definitely better than the plain white background that always seems to be used for visits.

Re: General High School Recruiting Discussion/Comments 2022-23
He would be a player I would be extremely excited to get.
Considered one of the top Juco bigs (6'9"/225) in the nation, last season averaged 12 pts/11 rebs.
He would be part of the 23-24 class, thinking at least one of our current bigs will leave if he signs.
He is from Virginia so probably a KJ recruit.

Re: General High School Recruiting Discussion/Comments 2022-23
Interesting. Will have to look up scouting reports on him for insight.
Is he a perimeter big? More of a banger, low post presence? Good passer? Has a handle? Athletic? 3 point threat?
I am curious.

35% FT shooter if I looked up the right guy. 48% the year before. That would surely need to improve.

Per Verbal Commits we offered this JUCO kid as well, I think we are all right that a big or two is going to be asked to leave at the end of the year

Has nice stats at one of the better Juco basketball programs.
He is 6'8"/215 from Australia.
Averaging 14.5 pts/ 11 rebs, shooting 65.6% FG and 45.5% 3PT.

I don’t know if we will or if we have shown interest yet. Qadir has only one offer that I saw when I just looked him up (from Bryant).
Hopefully, some of the others here that are more tied in to the program will come along and provide more insight.
If there is mutual interest, I agree that it would be an excellent story and tradition.

He does, Reef. Good gene’s!
For the purposes of full disclosure and running the risk of appearing too excited, my good gene’s comment is not meant as an evaluation of talent but is purely meant as a relation on a physiological level.

So funny, I kept thinking the same thing while watching. "We could use a couple of these kids". BPJ was definitely my first thought. Great show and this season has been really good.

Intriguing prospect with that size and skill set.
Borderline 3/4 star per 247 for those people who care about that sort of thing.

You know I care BAR . Like I've said in other posts, I'm trying to be patient until the October signings. That class is going to give a big indication on where we will be going.

We have two commits already.
There's 4 kids left in the Top 100. They go to school in FL and AZ.
4* transfers don't count according to you.
We will not be getting those kids ranked in the Top 100.
So you're already punting next year and the future?

Not sure what to say to you. I am waiting on the October signings to see what Archie can pull in for recruits. That's October 23, which hasn't happened yet. That is the 24 class. Am I punting next year? Well unless we get some solid transfers, yup it's a punt because the same players this year will be here next year. Along with 2 2* freshmen.Rhody15 wrote: ↑1 year agoYou still haven't answered my questions regarding next years class.theblueram wrote: ↑1 year ago You know I care BAR . They aren’t 2* you idiot, but maybe according to you anything outside the top 100 isn’t worthy for youtheblueram wrote: ↑1 year agoNot sure what to say to you. I understand where you are coming from, unless some 3rd party validates the quality of the recruit, with I would say at least 3*, you are then relying on your faith in the staff to have found a hidden gem. One could argue it’s harder than ever to be a hidden gem in this Information Age. Has this staff earned the benefit of the doubt?

247 is widely believed to be the most reliable.
They are both 3 stars on 247.
Estevez held offers from VCU, Wichita State, St. Bonaventure.
Dubsky from K-State, Maryland and GW.
IMO the quality of the programs offering is more relevant than the stars.

Re: General High School Recruiting Discussion/Comments 2022-23
I get shit on all the time because I focus on star recruiting. Like it doesn't matter. I'll give two recent examples. EC Matthews was a 4* recruit and JT was a 4* Top 100. In 2014 when EC was a soph and JT was in his second game in D1, they beat #21 Nebraska. JT hit 2 dimes in overtime and EC scored 26 pts. Combined, they scored about 60% of the points. THAT'S what top ranked players do for your program. If I add in Hass who was a high ranked 3* recruit, those three scored 70% of the points that game. It matters.
