Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
I wouldn't think there would be anymore additions until the new transfer rule issue is resolved. If it is passed it will be a much different roster as compared to if it is not passed. If it is passed Cox will also have more options and flexibility , if it is not he will need at least 1 guy with the 2 scholarships. I would assume there are potential transfers that are still out there that will wait also depending on the situation. Take Evan Cole for example, I have no idea what his status is with us, but say their is still mutual interest, I think it would be wise for him to see if the Mitchell twins are eligible next year before he were to make a decision. If they are eligible it makes for a crowded front court, if they are not he could nicely slide in for his grad year and possible be a great fit.

Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
We really can't add anybody else until the NCAA decides on the transfer rule. Unless they were a wing player. Even then, if we are recruiting a wing now it would be better to know Malik's status. Hard to sell on playing time when you don't know if someone is gonna play.
Hopefully most programs are waiting for the rule to pass as well, so all the good players get gobbled up.
Gonna be a long month until then and I hope there is less you know what going around....

If everyone can play I’m happy leaving the two spots open, presuming Fatts returns. If not we’re going to need at least one grad transfer.

I think once the rule passes officially then there will be a lot more movement and we be able to fill those 2 spots

Seems like that would be a nice pickup. What year is Medley-Bacon?

His skill set is seemingly more vast than Cyril’s just by looking at this video. And I LOVE CYRIL, that is not a slight to him...he was just very limited “mobility” wise.

Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
One of my friends works at Coppin State and is a basketball fan. He has seen some of their games in person and also followed the team. He said he is a terrific defensive player and very good rebounder with his height. He said he isn’t going to be a big scorer for you in the post, but will get a lot of putbacks and has potential to improve offensively. This sounds like it would be a very solid player if we can convince him that there will be playing time here with the Twins. I hope we can him.

That is true but Blake Vedder was 7 feet, Frank Monge was 7 feet. Doesn't necessarily mean
he will succeed in the A10 with our level of competition. Not sure this is worth it if
we will lose JH.

The answer is no on if he can defend the 4.steveystuds06 wrote: ↑4 years ago We have to be looking for a big man right? If we don't land one and the transfer rule doesn't pass what the hell are we going to do?? Everyone said Devele Johnson can't play at this level. Wasn't he known for blocking shots and having a great 3 PT shot? Can he defend at the 4??

I absolutely do not want to lose Jermaine. I think that Jermaine's best moments were when he was facing the basket and recall early on that there was some talk of him potentially developing into a stretch 4. If Jermaine is onboard with playing more time facing the basket then I like the idea of adding a fifth big.

Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
Harris would NO DOUBT be on board with playing more facing the basket.
A stretch 4 would be perfect for him.
He was at his best playing that way in high school.
With the Mitchell twins here, that's very likely to happen.
And that could really help keeping him here.

The better of the two twins is more of an Odom type player than a traditional center. The other one might be able to do what you are looking for

Re: General Recruiting Discussion/Comments
So, Madsen went on to become a college head coach. Interesting. Cole off the market then.
As far as Makhi Mitchell goes, watch this video...
Not unlike Lamar Odom, or Tre Mitchell, for that matter.
The big difference with Lamar, was that he had a pretty consistent three point shot, and he was like a 6'9" Fatts Russell, in some ways. He wasn't lightning quick like Russell, what I mean is, when the game was on the line, he wanted the ball, and he wanted to take the last shot, and you felt as an observer that it was more likely than not, going in.

Too bad that the summer/fall strength and conditioning programs aren't likely to happen this year.
That would help players like the Mitchell twins......those programs would really help freshmen becoming sophomores especially.

Am I the only one beginning to think our strategy here might be throwing in the towel on the uncertain prospect of fans in the building prior to a covid19 vaccine and focusing on building a monster team for 21/22?
Could be a brilliant strategy...
Man these b some crazy times!

Can't wait to see this kid go nose to nose with Tre Mitchell. This past year we had no answer
for him. He absolutely abused us. Hopefully with the Mitchell twins our 2 Mitchells with
trump their one. ( I wonder if they are related?)

He could be good.
33 percent as a freshman.
40 percent on a juco team.
He's at least experienced. Streaky. Could possibly be a better shooter on a better team like ours.
