Smith has played 2 games for DeMatha in the DC Summer League
His best game of the two games was on June 20. He went for 11-14 FG, 2-7 FT, 5 rebounds for 25 points vs Flint Hill. He only played 19 minutes in this game.

Smith’s Statistics playing for Team Durant in EYBL this Spring. Team Durant finished tied for 1st in League D and qualified to play in Nike EYBL Peach Jam as one of 24 teams in July. Great exposure opportunity for Smith and all his teammates.

I will take both Leggett and Smith, thank you. It will not be easy to get a highly rated center to come to URI. This guy could fill the bill.

Then we are basically set for '20.

Team Durant will be playing in front of loads of Head Coaches in July at Peach Jam. Visibility can. E a great thing if you play well, not so great if you don’t. We be interesting to see how Team Durant and Expressions Elite perform. Both finished a solid 9-4 in EYBL play to qualify for Peach Jam.

Smith doesn’t start for Team Durant. He is in their 8 man rotation.
Starters are Timberlake, Leggett, Dorsey, Maddox & Ace Baldwin. A loaded D1 team. The 6th man is Colin Smalls.

No he doesn’t start but he plays. He will get exposure at Peach Jam. He will especially get exposure if Durant does well which they are very capable of.

PAUL SMITH, DEMATHA (MD) 2020 FORWARD

Smith was one of the biggest risers of the month, picking up offers from Buffalo, East Tennessee State, Fairfield, George Mason, Rhode Island and Towson after two impressive sessions at DMV Live. He previously held offers from Bryant, Delaware, George Washington, James Madison, Lehigh, Loyola, Old Dominion and Mount St. Mary’s, but nearly matched that total in a span of two weeks.

“Everything’s going well,” he said of his recruitment. “I’m open to everything, so I’m just taking my time so I can make a good decision.”

The 6-foot-8, 230 pound Smith has long had all the tools, but it seems like he’s finally putting it all together at the perfect time.

“[My strength is] Probably my motor,” he said. “I play really hard; if I’m not going to give you 10-plus points, I’m still going to give you all my effort.”

Watching Smith play this week I think he has potential but has work to do. Would definitely need a year to get in better shape/quicker. Not a sure thing to be a starter.

Smith is still a target for Rhody. Leggett has his recruiting hat on. He knows Smith.
