His is an older ‘20. Originally was at Putnam HS in Springfield as a ‘19. Went to Masters School last year. Now at PH Christian Academy.
I really like this kid. Hoping Ty’s Expressions’ connections pay major dividends here.

I really think a 4 star and even a good 3 star would love to come here. ease in and learn from Fatts your freshman year and than you have the '18 and '19 class to work with for the next couple years. seems like a good story for DC and staff to work with.

I echo Reef's and other's comments above.
High level athlete and great form on his jumper - two nice additions to this roster.
Love the highlights of his blocks in the video above. Can't find any AAU video of him.
Really hope he is still an option for us.

I saw Martin attending the Hoop Hall Classic last Sunday wearing a URI pullover. His team played on Thursday the opening night. The event is in Springfield his home town.

It’s interesting because he is so quiet on recruiting you would think he isn’t being recruited. Never wears anything from schools. No mention of college or recruiting in his IG post and he post a lot. I wonder if Ty was at his game on Thursday night. He may have given him the Rhody gear then. I have watched him play once this year. The level of competition is so mixed it is hard to evaluate his performance. I am sure Ty saw him plenty last summer playing for Expressions. Another unusual situation was his school movement. He played at the Masters School last year and was scheduled to go to PH Christian Academy in FL this year but end up back at Putnam High School in Springfield (much lower level). I wonder with the offers he got this summer if he figured he didn’t need to go to FL and wanted to be back home.

interesting, that would explain why I couldn't find him in the Putnam Science Academy box scores. with all the prep schools in CT and MA surprised he didn't pick another school. his game reminds me of dahmir a bit. I'm not sure he's a true point guard from the video I have watched, which is what we really need, but a phenomenal athlete.

He definitely handles the ball for his HS team. My only concern is the level of competition he is playing against.

agreed and hard to tell how good of a ball handler he is versus this competition. after watching the VCU game that was one concern I have with the 18 and 19 classes is the lack of ball handling ability to manage a game at the division 1 level. probably the biggest weakness as a whole for those two classes. even hammond doesn't look like the best ball handler and more of a pure shooter/slasher. would love the length of taelon martin/greg hammond backcourt, but he might not be the best fit to compliment the last two recruiting classes.

Saw that on IG story as well. Hanging out with Dana (Expressions connection).

I just have this feeling the his recruiting path is similar to Dana’s.

Bitee turned out to be a good PG, but he was really more of a combo guard, not a true point.....

Boswell has a good in thru Expressions. Taelon returned home to play for Putnam HS this year. Much weaker competition than prep school. How he performs in AAU this Spring and Summer are key for him. If Boswell & Cox like what they see during AAU, I can see them pushing for an early commitment (like Long and Tate the last two years).

He is not on Mass Rivals’ roster for April 2019. He is not on Expressions April 2019 roster.
I am not sure what AAU team (if any) he is playing for.

If I remember right, pretty early in Hurley's tenure he had DJ Foremen (many schools, last St. Louis) and his dad on campus. Didn't Foreman go there?

I do not see this as any kind of red flag. It looks worse when you spell it out, but it boils down to he spent his sophomore year at a prep school. Do not fault a kid do deciding to go back home in junior year.
