This doesn’t make a lot of sense. No activity on him since Jan. All video is a year old.

Kids like putting hats on the proverbial table. Makes it seem more high stakes. I don’t have an issue with it, but I have to admit I don’t love when the stories the next day say stuff like “Bones chose [Delaware] over Rhode Island and Temple.” Like...no he didn’t, actually. But in the grand scheme of things, who cares. Let the kids have their fun.

Exactly. A lot of folks don’t understand that concept. We may have had “interest”, but never an offer.

Tear it up at Monmouth, Bones.

Yeah, but I think we would be all happy if we woke up tomorrow and the headlines reads, "Anthony Walker picks URI over Kansas and Maryland"TruePoint wrote: ↑5 years agoKids like putting hats on the proverbial table. Re: Bones Hyland '19 G
True on the Walker comment. We would be happy if it read “Anthony Walker picks URI”. I wouldn’t care if it said over Byrant after that
I do think it is weird for a kid to put a school in his final list if they haven’t made an offer. The final list insinuates the recruit could pick from any of the schools on the list to go to.

Walker has Kansas on his list, they haven’t offered.

BREAKOUT PERFORMERS
Nahshon Hyland, PG, We R 1
It’s easy to cheer for 2019 guard Nahshon Hyland. Last year he escaped from his families burning house. To make matters worse, he hurt his meniscus and missed the entire spring and summer. He showed up at the Under Armour Association with an opportunity and he took advantage of it. Hyland looked every bit the high major prospect we thought he was when we saw him in 2017. At 6-foot-3, Hyland has a tremendous blend of running a team and facilitating mixed with scoring from all three levels. He’s thin and lacking in strength, but he makes up for it with his toughness. He has a quick first step, competes on both ends and is creative off the bounce.
Recruiting: Maryland, DePaul, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, TCU, Seton Hall, Saint Joseph’s and Temple

Tough kid. I had seen this tweet but hadn’t read the story. It’s one thing to tear up your knee, a whole other thing to tear up your knee jumping out a window to save your life.

Still playing AAU and is moving past those original offers. Probably not going to “tear it up at Monmouth.”

Re: Bones Hyland '19 G
there was talk in VCUs board he was going to take a Post Grad year. he has received interest from a lot of major P5 teams, but the thought was he might have to redshirt to get stronger, so a PG year would makes sense.
He jumped more in the rankings than probably any other '19. No idea if we are still talking to him.

Re: Bones Hyland '19 G
Would be a very strong backcourt for years to come along with Ace. VCU also out of the gates pretty quickly this year with recruiting.

Would have loved to get this guy with everything he has been through. He also looks to be a very talented player that will probably have an appreciation for hard work and not take anything for granted.

Re: Bones Hyland '19 G
He’s definitely a guy I’ll be following. He has a good story and a chance to be a dynamic player. A lot of teams checked in, but I think VCU was his only official.
URI holds their own with Fatts, but Ace and Bones would just be a tremendously well-named backcourt.

Great get by VCU if he commits with them. He would have been a great addition with Rhody.

He apparently made a post announcing his final two, but now it’s gone? Maybe he wanted a better edit?

Re: Bones Hyland '19 G
He missed last year’s AAU season due to an injury from jumping out of the window of his burning house. Lost family members.
He didn’t start playing again until December.

Beware one game sample sizes, especially as it relates to BPM.

Thought he was their best offensive player Friday.. quick and can shoot.. not sure about his defense but would have looked good in Keaney blue

Fun to go back on these for sure, speaking of going back where has Ace been? She’s been pretty quiet through this streak and esp with her beloved Fatts tearing it up.

I would’ve been happy with Bones. I think he’s as quick as Fatts.
