Well if we don't make it it's Flemings fault because you don't start 2-0 on the road in the CAA without some significant talent.
We clearly have talent...
But Delaware has crushed Stony Brook and Maine...
Those teams were tight with Nova and Albany...
Rhody was in OT with each.
This game is not a guaranteed dub, just cuz we beat two ranked teams on the road and this week is at home.
Reality is there are four more freaking wars on the horizon, and we might have to go 4-0...
God I hope we do it and make the playoffs!!! The games at Meade in '84 and '85 were SICK!!!
One of the reasons I chose Kingston...
The ranking, which will undoubtedly (and deservedly) happen this week isn't worth the four minutes I just spent typing this post...
One game at a time, let's just focus on the Hens. They're very good.
We'll need to play better in all three facets, and we'll need to coach better.
We might also need some luck...
But let's not look towards May. Just enjoy being 2-0, and playing good football in a meaningful game.
Good points rudder
Delaware has been dominating. This will be a very tough for URI, even playing at our own Meade Stadium
Looking at the 4 remaining games Delaware should be the toughest game from among New Hampshire, Maine and @ Stony Brook

How many games can we afford to lose?
Thought I read somewhere the two teams with the best records from the north and south play a championship game for the rite to go to the playoffs

Can probably lose only one game if we want to make the playoffs, and even that wouldn't be a guarantee. There are 10 automatic qualifiers and 6 at large teams. Because the CAA is split this year you have to figure the division winner that doesn't get the automatic bid will eat up one of the six at large bids. So we'd either have to win the North or be good enough to beat out everyone else for one of the probable five at large remaining bids. Hard to think 4-2 would be good enough to do that, 5-1 should do it, but it would depend on circumstances around the country

Pretty sure the playoffs start the week after the final game, so I'm not sure this is possible.
Only 5 at-large bids are available in the country...and with JMU only having to beat three teams in the south...
Just focus on this week, it's the only thing the Rams can control.

No championship game. From the CAA press release on 10/27
"The team with the best overall conference record will earn the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Football Championship. Should the divisional champions finish with the same conference record, a tie-breaking procedure will be used to determine the automatic qualifier."
No idea what the tie-breaking procedure is
