seriously tp your response to ramster was pretty lame, he was just mentioning things he'd be interested in knowing, I'm sure he didn't think he was sending you out on a mission, no reason to jump on the guy. Higher standards please Mr. Moderator. And ramster you leave Bress' emoticons alone. You're all going on double secret probation! Zero Point Zero....

Thanks, Running Ram. However, I'll be abstaining from the childish side for awhile. God knows that my life isn't serious enough and I don't need an outlet……I know -- I'll just draw silly faces in a notebook!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would not expect your or TP to provide me with any questions for the Coach because both of you know everything anyway.
So the point is moot.
If by chance you did have a question for the Head Coach would you include all of your childish emoticons with your email to him?
P.S. I don't e-mail Coach Hurley. P.P.S. I don't have "Emoticon Enabled E-Mail" anyway.
P.P.P.S. I neither know everything, nor much of anything, Ramster. That's why I read KeaneyBlue.
Bressler,
Sorry I misinterpreted you, I thought you were jumping on me along with TP. I agree I certainly felt like I was treated like garbage, so thanks..............go back to the emoticons in that case

Thanks for the support RR. And I have given Bress the green light on the emoticons - I misinterpretted and thought he was jumping on the TP attack, I was wrong.Running Ram wrote:seriously tp your response to ramster was pretty lame, he was just mentioning things he'd be interested in knowing, I'm sure he didn't think he was sending you out on a mission, no reason to jump on the guy. Disagree.TruePoint wrote:I think it's a little melodramatic to say ramster was treated like garbage. He was treated like someone being a little unreasonable. I tried to help shed a little light on the scholarship situation. Ramster didn't like the information (I guess? Not really too sure what his issue actually was). But the bigger point is that the event tonight is not an interrogation. I'm not going to be peppering people with questions and demanding a certain degree of detail in response, especially to questions that I think I already know the answer to. Also, I'm not a reporter. It isn't my job to get information for people. I was serious about that: if you think the coach will answer your question and you really want to know, email him.
I thought you treated me like garbage as others have also said, that is how I felt.
"A Little Unreasonable"?
I put forth questions that I suggested to be asked at the event
I did not say I could not be there but I thought that was pretty obvious since I was suggesting the questions
I did not say that they HAD to be asked. I did not suggest "Waterboarding" techniques be used
By the way, I already know what the Coaching Staff thought about Hare's performance in Italy and I know what they think about him as far as his ability and value to the team - the question was more for people on this Board and elsewhere to hear it from the staff. So I don't need to send an email on that question.
I also was not looking for you to ask my questions for me. By the way, in the past I have seen requests for questions from posters who were going to attend events such as these. I have often been impressed by the quality of the questions suggested for asking. I thought this wold be a imilar opportunity.
I did not expect to get chastised and making it sound like an interrogation, complete with waterboarding, battery cable, etc. Just suggested questions.
Clear?

You guys are too sensitive. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, ramster. If I were at a bar with my buddies and one of them was being a little whiny about something, I'd respond with something in the same vein as "why don't you write a damn letter." I like my friends, that is just how we talk to each other. That is the way I think if these conversations - like dudes at a bar, talking about URI basketball. I'm not trying to be mean. It honestly catches me off guard when you guys get your feelings hurt about this. But I will try to keep it in mind from now on.

I feel the same way. I come off as very blunt and abrasive at times in
print.
Face to face, tone is different. You often can't determine tone or
sarcasm in written form.
I call it locker room talk, where there's a lot of busting and back and forth,
which if in print, would seem harsh.

With Cooke out, I wonder if we get back on Ingram? I don't see that we are involved with any other transfers. So, it seems, it's either Ingram, a 5TH year guy, or save it for '15.

If Cooke committed to Dayton without visiting to us, I think it is fair to ask if we are willing to take anyone at this point.

When did Cooke commit to Dayton?
There is confusion as to if they even can offer a scholarship
for this year.
My guess is nobody else comes in and the roster stands as is.

Reported about an hour ago, Rod. I'm happy with the roster the way it is now. Having 3 for '15 would be good. Then again, if we got a 5th year guy, there still would be 3.

I think he actually hates it as much as losing games.
It's painted him into a corner in so many ways.
Plus he never expected it to be an issue, when he was hired.

There's a lot to juggle being a head coach, and that's to be expected; but, the other stuff- recruiting, in game coaching, running practices, etc.- if it's not working, you work harder and smarter. They have done everything right in bringing in the right supports and keeping things tights academically since the day he was hired, but an inherited APR situation just has to be endured until all that falls of the official record.

It's a good development that URI has more interested players than scholarships.
