Dunn to leave PC ?
Word around New London has that Dunn is looking to leave PC. URI is one of the school he is interested IN .Sources tell me that his parent is upset with the coach and blames the coach for his injury problem.

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
Essam, I've heard the same thing, but not about his interest in URI. Great if true.
That would be awesome if he were to come here and have 3 years eligibility, if he gets an injury waiver?
Or if he transferred now, he could play next December and have 2 and 1/2 years?

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
I think it could happen.
If he's going to transfer before 2nd semester, we'll know it soon.
Where he goes, soon after.
If he wants to stay local, we're the place for him. Could be a great fit?
He'd get a lot of minutes, that's for sure.

This would be great.
You're right, one thing we can promise, is playing time which we know is what most transfers are looking for

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
Evidently Kris's dad is pissed because PC [Cooley] had him playing thru his injury, and ended up making it worse.
Can't blame him.
I doubt UConn would be an option, they look set at PG.
UMass after Williams leaves? Let's hope not.
Just speculating again.

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
It's generally pretty out there that the family (the dad?) isn't happy with how the knee injury thing has played out, but has a reputable site reported that he's looking to leave at all? Two weeks ago, after all, we had "friends" of the Murphys saying that he was definitely going to transfer here, so I'm always leery of these kind of rumors. Nine times out of 10, they don't really amount to anything.

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
1. It's a shoulder injury
2. The family is frustrated about the injury; but they LOVE Cooley
3. KD was never seriously involved with URI and does not have a relationship with Hurley.
Other than that; this thread is spot on

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
All sounds bogus to me.
Not sure Hurley would ever take a PC player, although
Billy did consider PC, which meant Cooley would have taken him.

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
Essam is not usually not a pot stirrer however.....and we were recruiting Dunn until he had his breakout summer....we were presumed to be in his top 2 or 3 until he blew up and Cooley went to PC giving Dunn a big east offer...it wouldn't be too far fetched since Preston is the lone holdover from that early recruitment....what is hard to believe is that Dunn would seriously consider leaving PC ....

Uri was NEVER in KDs top 3.
Baron was absolutely wanted by Cooley.
DH blocked it. 100% right thing to do.

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
Dunn came in as possibly the best PG in his class. He hasn't played meaningful minutes in 2 years. His dad has said he is disappointed. It's not a stretch to say they have soured on PC. I know nothing about it, but kids have transferred for less, that is for sure.

No one is questionong the level of KDs family's(read father's) frustration. However, to start a thread about him transferring to a school coached by a guy he has ZERO relationship with is the pure definition of trolling. Plain and simple.

Isn't that what the recruiting threads are for? Nobody really knows what goes on in recruiting except the players and coaches in question.

Pretty clear I hate pc basketball.
I am uncomfortable however with stealing enemy players. That would up the level of hatred to unacceptable levels IMHO.

I'd love to have a healthy Kris Dunn on our team.
However, this is a non story, and wishful thinking.
I don't ever recall a URI player going to PC or vice-versa.
Not happening.

Was Sly ever a PC player? Did he actually enroll at PC? Rod was saying that he couldn't recall someone enrolling and suiting up for either PC or URI transferring to the other.

Thank you, Bos8.
Big difference for a transfer than an unsigned recruit, which Sly was.
Sly Williams was NEVER a PC player. End of story.

Bris signed his loi; ended up a juco. Played 1 uninspired year at PC before the staff suggested he go elsewhere. Led to the coining of the term "Brizzed".

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
Cooley should never allow it even if this is what Dunn wants. As long as coaches retain the power to block transfers Cooley should in this case. Whether coaches should have the ability to block transfer out of conference is another story.

Just wait until we start the rumor of BC firing Donahue and hiring Cooley because of his prior history as assistant there....at $5M a year ...

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
No out of state player really buys into the PC-URI rivalry, trust me. It's a big game because people are invested in it, but the players respect each other. If Dunn is indeed interested in URI (which I highly doubt he is) the rivalry will not stand in his way. It's a non-issue for out of state players.

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
This has nothing to do with the players. It has to do with the respective schools
and coaches.
It's never happened and it won't.
End of story.
Guess out of staters don't buy into the UNC-Duke rivalry, either. So, no out of state students can
get into any rivalry? Yeah, sure.

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
KB should watch the HBO ,Tobacco Road documentary on the Duke-UNC
rivalry.
NYC kids and players from all over the country, stating their hatred for
the other school.
Ohio State-Michigan. Gee, any out of staters playing in that rivalry?
So, unless you're in state, you could give a crap about any silly rivalries?
Ah, huh.

Totally unsubstantiated BS?
Bc uri isn't the primary team I pull for; I am a guest?
I am willing to wager I have sober more time in Keaney and the RC than most of this board.

Re: Dunn to leave PC ?
The main point here is that, even if KD wasn't happy at PC and even if he had any interest at URI (neither of which have been supported by anything, BTW), Coach Cooley would still have to release KD from his scholarship and he would never allow him to transfer to URI. So let's move on.

KD is under scholly at PC.
He, nor anyone in his family has expressed displeasure with PC. They are all frustrated with the injury.
To allow baseless speculation about a rival teams players transferring to your school wrecks the credibility of the site.
Apparently PC players aren't afforded the same protection from the mods as URI players

Better yet, since the credibility has been ruined, maybe you should just never come back on here again. Why would you want to be at all associated with such a site.
