Yes, and each game means something, unlike NBA when I can't tolerate watching until Playoffs begin, if that.

Just my opinion. I love college basketball with a passion. The students the team work the upsets. But when I turn on an nba game its like I just watched pee wee basketball. The skill difference is insane. I have grown to the love the NBA now. They don't miss shots, the highlights come every other posession and everyone is goooood. Its like taking Michigan st unc duke and zona and putting them into one game. Its perfect basketball. But college is a close second.

Danny Manning and the Miracles is the only other one I can really remember like that.sf2010 wrote:It sure was a tremendous tournament for Kemba. In my limited memory, I can't recall seeing one player carry his team to a championship the way Kemba did with that team.
The Glen Rice Michigan team had other NBAers on it. Loy Vaught, Rumeal Robinson, Terry Mills. But, Rice was unbelievable that postseason.

http://future150.com/hs/basketball-news ... dmpc-11686Damontre Jefferson, 2015 PG, Believe Prep: He has the reputation as a shot jacker but has worked hard to transform himself into more of a distributor. On Saturday he did just that, helping his team to the victory. He can still score at will and is one of the streakiest shooters around, but it is clear he is dedicated to being more of a lead guard.
http://future150.com/hs/basketball-news ... ssic-11697Trae Jefferson, 2015 PG, Believe Prep: Jefferson was at it again on Sunday afternoon. The dynamic 5-foot-7 guard not only shot the ball well, but set his teammates up and created open looks for them. He is a blur in the open floor and nearly impossible to stay in front of. It will be interesting to see how Trae continues to develop.

Re: '15 WI PG - Damontrae Jefferson (Offer)
I like that we got involved with this guy early. Seems like he might be a bit of a gunner, but highly skilled without a doubt. Given our backcourt situation I wonder if Hurley will continue to pursue. I'd guess yes, there's always room for top60 players, but we'll have to see how it plays out.
He's definitely fun to watch though. Gets his right elbow a little wide on the jumper, which I don't love, but other than that a lot to like. Great handle, great speed, good at finding teammates in traffic (though they wouldn't show turnovers on a highlight reel...), and he can dunk at 5'7"ish.

Jefferson is a very polarizing player when it comes to how the experts rate him- very much a love him or hate him kind of guy.

- See more at: https://rivalshoops.rivals.com/content. ... TexEY.dpufWhen the players who guarded Damontrae Jefferson of Milwaukee Running Rebels reflect on Sunday's games, they may shake their heads in disbelief. Jefferson went off for 82 points and 11 assists in three games.
The flashy playmaker is a mixtape videographer's dream. His first instinct when receiving the ball is to penetrate and get into the lane to make something happen. He is incredibly quick and effective with both hands, has the ball on a string, and despite his small stature (5-foot-8), he is a fearless attacker. Jefferson's energy is also impressive -- his motor never stops.
The No. 47 ranked player in the 2015 class is also quite talkative on court. During player free throws we noticed he'll strike up a conversation with officials, teammates or opponents. He's definitely a vocal leader for the Rebels as well.
"Point guards are the loud speaker, the general of the floor" Jefferson said. "We've got to say whatever needs to be said that ain't being said to motivate their team when their team needs to be motivated."
Jefferson listed offers from Auburn, Memphis, LaSalle, Rhode Island, Southern Miss, Cleveland State, New Mexico State and Western Kentucky. Look for him to visit WKU and La Salle next month.
Jefferson game by game Sunday at adidas Gauntlet
36 points, 3 assists, 4 turnovers vs. Michigan Mustangs
21 points, 4 assists, 1 turnover vs. Ohio Basketball Club
25 points, 4 assists, 3 turnovers vs. Team Fast

Have we been in on him lately? Still uncommitted...perhaps he was a Preston guy?
Would be nice depth at the PG position, for sure!

I fear like he might be a little erratic at times at the next level.
One of the most impressive high school tapes I've seen though!
His body control is amazing!

The latest on the National Level…….Mr. Jefferson is mentioned at the bottom. Note the "attitude" assessment.

Also, Sampson wants big minutes and isn't interested in "systems," etc.,

With how big a lot of kids ego's are today, it might be tough for a kid ranked 55th in the nation by Rivals, to come off the bench for the majority of his career. I don't see this kid starting here the next few years, and he might feel like his ranking means he should start right away. Just my opinion, obviously.

Some serious talent, still unsigned.
Yes, egos are so huge, and coaches biggest job
is to manage them, and somehow mesh those egos
into a team concept.
That's why, for all his detractors, John Calpiari does
an incredible job of doing just that.
His players buy into playing defense and playing far less minutes
than they normally would play,

UMass already has Pipkins coming in as a highly rated PG and So. Miss has 2 PGs coming in, although not as highly rated. I wonder if Jefferson is a defensive liability because of his height.

Adam Zagoria tweeted that we offered 2016 G Thomas Jefferson. Same guy or are we looking at two Jeffersons?

That tweet was in reference to 2016 G Shamorie Ponds out of Thomas Jefferson High School. I agree that the syntax was a little weird bc Zags used Ponds' Twitter handle instead of his name.Hurley Show wrote:Adam Zagoria tweeted that we offered 2016 G Thomas Jefferson. Are we actually involved with this guy, or is this just a rehash?
