Iggy, did you see what I wrote above? The schedule is literally incomplete as more and more games are added or distributed for syndication. It's much more complex than ever before.

I would not be surprised if they added more games.
I hope this doesnt mean there is a second service I have to subscribe to now to see some games.

So is that in addition to the normal Cox package? I'm confused. I'm sure it'll all be explained in the release of the TV schedule.

Also, if you look at today's media notes for the exhibition game, you'll see that virtually EVERY game this year is on TV. Only games not scheduled to be televised are:
Metro State
Detroit
@ St Bonaventure.

All other A10 games are televised. Lots of SNY/Cox games.

Oops, just saw the pre game notes. Thank God for SNY! There are only 8 Cox only games, 2 per month from November through February. At $10/ month, $5 per game not too bad for us out of staters.
BTW, what is MyRITV(Brown game)??

MyRITV is a subsidiary of WJAR 10. They show old programs from the 50's and 60's.
It's channel 811 I think on RI Cox.
WJAR also controls a lot of the programming on Cox access channel,
running repeats of their news broadcasts most of the day, as well as some
high school games, and the URI and PC games. I don't know how it
will work this year, with BE being on Fox.

MyRITV is actually associated with WPRI-12 and WNAC-64, not WJAR-10. The Ocean State Network OSN is the WJAR news collaboration with COX that also shows RI sports.

I stand corrected.
Wonder why Cox has so many stations bunched in that 800 block?
I only found them last year, by accident.
There are a bunch of stations in the 400's that I get, The Big 10 and
PAC 10 networks and a few hunting stations.
I'm sure most subscribers don't get past the premiums in the 200s to realize there's scattered
programming they recieve.

Yeah man seriously, I think there is only 1 game (Detroit) that I MIGHT not be able to see between online and TV. Thats pretty amazing to say when I am about as far away from RI as possible.

Big East probably has different blanket digital rights over games played in their members' buildings.

Or it was an exhibition with limited appeal outside the state.

FS1 is struggling to gain traction at its start up:

Not exactly the instant ESPN challenger some expected.
I've tried watching it, and I just can't seem to be comfortable with their shows.
Plus Cox has it buried somewhere in the 90's.
Never got how they do such a poor job of bunching blocks of similar channels together.
Since I've become an expert at kids TV, it's all over the place.
Nickelodian is at 35 and Nick Jr. is 105, for instance.
Then there's those 800 channels and the 400 channels that nobody knows about.
Odd.

That always annoyed me about Cox. FIOS does a better job at organizing its channels.

a lot of the channel choices on cox are based on the package you get them with, Nickelodian is part of basic cable but Nick jr is not

FS1 is in the 80s and is around the other sports networks (FS1 85, Golf 86, NBCSN 93, YES 128, MLB 129, CBSSN 135, NFL 137, NHL 138, etc.)

Had a feeling this would be the case. I'm not sure why anybody really thought it would be any different than the CBS and NBC sports networks. They all have their audience for certain live events that interest them, but very few people are going to turn any of them into THE sports station that they go to for everyday programming.

Has anybody done the research for out of state fans on which online package is the best to purchase? Cox sports online and pay by game or by month? The A-10 streamling online was also tossed around for $30-$40 for the season. Any thoughts for people with experience with this?

it will take years and years for FS1 to come anywhere near ESPNs radar, and that will not happen on the strength of Big East basketball and UFC. they better secure a major rights deal with one of the professional leagues, i assume the only realistic target is the NBA. that could be a game changer if that happens.

DaninAZ asked a question about replays and I don't think I saw the answer. I have the same question. For a few games that are online only (ie SMU on espn3) can you also get a replay? I will be in hong kong for tHis one and that's business day HK time so I'd like to be able to watch or even just listen to a replay when I get back to my hotel room at night.

^^^ This. I signed up last week, expecting to be able to watch the PC/RIC game. Even though Cox broadcasted the game, I was not able to watch it online. I am disappointed because I will have now paid for 2 weeks of their service, and not received anything in return.

I will save you the time.. No, of course they won't be free all year. They are making this one free so people can confirm that it's a viewing experience that works for them before committing the money to subscribe.

Bos8, all of the Cox-produced games will be streamed. The only one where I would have any doubt is the George Mason one in November. I'm not sure if Cox is relaying that feed or producing it themselves.

I will let you all know once I hear something.

I have gotten confirmation that only Cox-produced games will be streamed, so we cannot simply go by looking for a OSN televised game on the schedule.

We are working to get the exact list of games that will be streamed. I will keep everyone posted and you'll see something on GoRhody about this once it is known.
