Max Shulga will not be transferring to Villanova, and instead will be returning to VCU. Massive news for the Rams.

For me, this is good news on two levels:

1. The A10 benefits because VCU is better with him than without him.

2. He rejected a NBE team to remain at an A10 team.

Thanks for posting the news, 22.

May be he rethought after viewing a better A10 transfer G, on campus.

SLU has now filled all their scholarships for 24-25 with the addition of recruit (Wing/F) Warlick.
He is a 3* who previously committed to Wyoming.

Thanks for posting this, Jersey. Nice pickup for Dayton and the A10. Hopefully, for Dayton and the A10, he improves and sticks around for a few years, at least.

UMass has their roster filled (13 scholarships).
About half the A10 schools now have full rosters.

This Is the last season for UMass in the A10, I don't wish them well.
I still predict them in the bottom tier, but they have some talent/size and can finish higher.

Returning players (6):
(F/ 6'8") Sanford- Played in all 31 games (18 mins), 6.5 pts/ 5.3 rebs.
(G) Diggins- A10 Most Improved Player, started 31 games 12.8 pts.
(G) Curry - A10 All-Rookie Team, averaged 7.4 pts.
(G) Ndjigue - Started all 31 games as a freshman, 5.5 pts/ 5 rebs.
(G) Worthy- Freshman averaged 11 mins.
(F/6'8") Foster- Freshman, limited minutes.

Transfers (3):
(PF 6'9") Watson- ASU freshman, former 4 * recruit
(F 6'6") Rivera- From Bryant averaged 13.3 pts/ 8 rebs.
(PF/C 6'10") Abdelgowad (Murray State), limited minutes.

Freshmen recruits (4):
(C/ 6'11") Doumbia 3*/4*.
(G) Guerengomba 3*
(Wing) Walker 3*
(PF 6'10") Damjanac 3*

Good breakdown, Jersey. Much appreciated.

Since it is this their last year in the A10, we should sweep them as a going away present. Hahahahaha (sinister Dr Evil laugh).

Thanks Drums. The A10 will have plenty of depth. I still feel we will be competitive and probably finish somewhere in the middle.

Good write up on him from Jablonski in the Dayton Daily News

Don’t see where he is listed as a Top 30 prospect

Looks like 3.5 stars from what I quickly searched

Interesting he did not commit until Holmes officially announced he was staying in the NBA Draft and not returning to Dayton

Does anyone know an Arab sheik that can subsidize the A10’s NIL ?

Perhaps we should ask the battleaxe ?

Hey Mr. sheik, we want the A10 as a whole to play basketball at a power conf level. Can you assist ?

Time for the A10 to think outside the box ? Maybe there’s a sheik out there that likes A10 bb ?

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Adapt and overcome.

Just some slow season questions for the KB crew.

Yeah, SLU should be top tier A10, but not really buying #21. It is good though to have another quality HC (Schertz) in our conference.

It would be great for the A10 if they do end up ranked, Jersey, especially with Dayton not being expected to be as good without their star big man, Holmes. But, like you, I think SLU will be A10 good and not so sure they will be top 25 good.

SLU will be pretty good and could have 3 players 1st or 2nd Team All-A10.
Gibby is 2X All-A10.
Avila will probably be the best big in the conference, last season averaged 17.4 pts (39% 3PT)/ 6.6 rebs/ 4 assists.
Swope is a stud at guard averaged 16 pts (36% 3PT).

They added Anya from Brown at forward, as a soph. last season averaged 10 pts/ 7 rebs.

They also have plenty of depth and size at all positions.

SLU might not even be the best team in the conference; VCU, Dayton (without Holmes), Loyola, and St. Joe's are all loaded.

Actually, the A10 may be more talented and deeper than last season.

White also has a long relationship with Daeshon Shepherd, dating to their on-court battles as teens. Shepherd, who averaged 9.6 points and 5.7 rebounds last season, returned to La Salle recently after entering his name in the transfer portal. The pairing of Shepherd and White has the potential to be a rebounding force for the Explorers.

“Both of us can get it and go and push the ball,” White said. “Rebounding is a huge part of the game. Us out there rebounding I think will be a pretty good look.”

White started out rebounding and playing well last season, averaging 8.5 boards per contest and 14 points in 27.8 minutes in the Owls’ first four games before getting injured. He played with his hand wrapped upon his return and had several really good outings, including the 21-point, 15-rebound outburst at Tulane last Feb. 4, but his minutes dipped as the season waned. He played just 15.5 minutes per contest in his last 10 games.

Some teams have their 2024-2025 Rosters out and they are updated as needed. PC and URI WBB are 2 examples.
URI MBB does not have an updated MBB 2024-2025 roster so could be why Bilau is listed - no official announcements have been made so Bilau gets included possibly by default. He is not with the team.

Among the 10 Prediction Sources I put together in last season’s spreadsheet Barttorvik was the only one of the 10 to predict Duquesne #1 Preseason. Duquesne won the A10 Tournament Championship getting the auto-bid.
8 picked Dayton #1 and A10 Talk picked Fordham #1

Among the 10 Prediction Sources I put together in last season’s spreadsheet Barttorvik was the only one of the 10 to predict Duquesne #1 Preseason. Duquesne won the A10 Tournament Championship getting the auto-bid.
8 picked Dayton #1 and A10 Talk picked Fordham #1

I also really love the data sorting that Bart offers on his site. Such a fun tool.

4. St. Joe's
5. SLU
6. Duquesne
7. Rhody
Barttorvik has PC 8th. I think Georgetown will surpass PC.

Seems kind of early for preseason rankings with so many transfers still in the portal. KenPom is usually some time in late August or September.

I actually think that having us at #7 is about right, I am still feeling that we finish in the middle of the conference.
Of course, I hope we surprise and finish much higher but for now, Barttorvik probably isn't far off.

Nice addition for Odom, at 6'10" he was a top 100 (On3) recruit, offered by Maryland, Iowa, Ga. Tech, Houston.

The A10 seem to be drawing some top prep recruits with the P conferences mostly - but not totally - filling rosters with experienced college players.

Nice job by VCU. Hopefully they can hang on to him for a few years.
