I expected a closer game between Clemson and NM. 20 pt Clemson lead with 6:27 left.

Why is Hurley keeping his starters in this game, especially Clingan?
I know we all love Dan, but this is stupid.
The idea is to win the game, not humiliate the opponent and run the risk of getting key players hurt..
Makes zero sense.

Re: 2024 NCAA/NIT Post Season Tournaments - All Things
Since the Big East split in 2012 the first few years the A10 was a lot better than the AAC - then it flipped for a bit and now it's going back the other way. It started to flig when Wichita St went there. Around that time I was arguing on Twitter with an AAC fan who was saying they were much better than the A10 - I asked him to back it up with numbers...this was maybe around 5 or 6 years ago. I argued at the time that the conferences since the AAC formed had roughly the same number of bids and the A10 (at the time) had more wins. He responded that he thought I was crazy until he looked it up and conceded my point. That was before Houston became a powerhouse and UConn was still in the league and struggling.RF1 wrote: ↑2 months ago Both of the AAC teams, FAU and UAB, go out in the first round. The trajectory of this league looks to be headed down after all its big name departures. Lost Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF a year ago will soon lose SMU (ACC bound). Has already or will soon add Charlotte, FAU, N Texas, Rice, UAB, and UTSA for basketball. It had been ahead of the A-10 in most metrics and perception prior to this year. The A-10 however looks to have jumped ahead of it again this past season.

I am not watching that game, Bone. I am surprised to hear he didn’t pull starters sooner - like with about 6 min left - considering the size of the blowout.rambone 78 wrote: ↑2 months ago Why is Hurley keeping his starters in this game, especially Clingan?

It seems that only injuries can derail their run so, why risk the starters when up 30 the last several minutes of the game ?

Thompson was a great college player, but he wasn't the reason the Leg-humpers won. Perno saw how completely left-handed Sly was and had smaller, quicker players overplay Sly's left hand and took Sly completely out of the game.
And don't get me started on the Maryland game.

The Yale game is starting to feel like the near miss by Princeton vs. Georgetown game in PVD back in the 80s. Although the was a 16 vs 1 game I think?

I was at that game at the PCC on St Patrick's Day in 1989. Princeton led almost the entire game before Georgetown went ahead with under a minute left. Had looked like a #16 seed was about to beat a top seed for the first time in the history of the tournament (would not happen until UMBC-UVA in 2018). The Hoyas were coached by John Thompson and were led by Mourning and Mutumbo.section(105) wrote: ↑2 months ago The Yale game is starting to feel like the near miss by Princeton vs. Georgetown game in PVD back in the 80s. The second game that night was Notre Dame (Digger with Laphonso Ellis) beating Vanderbilt on St Patty's Day with plenty of people wearing the green.

And Princeton was coached by Pete Carill, Diggers best friend(Beacon, NY)) did sleep over in my parents house in EP. Used to shoot pool with Pete, away from camps, at local bars in PA. Amazing stick player. Fun times.

Wolf fouls out for Yale. Tough break; tough call. They might miss his foul shooting here in the last half minute.

psssh...UCONN lost to Kansas. Kansas lost to Baylor. Baylor lost to Duke. Duke lost to Arkansas. Arkansas lost to Auburn. Auburn lost to Yale. Yale lost to our Rhody Rams. Bottom line...URI > Uconn.

Man, I feel for the Grambling center, Ali, going up against Edey. It’s like a wrestling match in the lane and the Grambling center must be giving up 30-40 lbs, at least, if not more. Ooph

Edey might foul out Grambling’s whole front court in the first half. Yikes. It’s like Andre the Giant going against a dwarf wrestler’s.

Reminder to people that were complaining so much about Fuchs. Illeri was unplayable as a frosh. Now he’s a solid D1 player. Our guys can develop!
