Yes, feel the same way.
Loved it when Sly came here instead of UConn.
I guess now I can tolerate UConn a little more with Dan there.

Can't say that. The draws are so random - it's not seeding it's the teams. If we had been an 8 seed in the South region, we'd have taken on K State and then UMBC. If we were a 7 seed in that bracket it would've been Texas and Cinci.hrstrat57 wrote: ↑2 months agoRemains a mystery why the team was so unprepared for that game vs St Joe’s…steveystuds06 wrote: ↑2 months agoOur 30-point blowout loss against St. Joe's and our two losses against Davidson are why we played Duke in 2018.. Changed our situation completely agree.
At least sweet 16. Still puzzling that Dan decided to roll with just Cyril and Andre that year.Blue Man wrote: ↑2 months agoCan't say that. The draws are so random - it's not seeding it's the teams. We had zero chance with 3 teams in the tournament that year. We lacked size, but we had probably the best depth/collection of guards in the country. There were 3 teams I thought we'd get bounced against. Duke, Kansas, and Michigan State. As it was all 3 of them were in our same bracket.
We could've been anywhere between a 6-11 seed that year, and being on that seed line in the South bracket meant we were facing Duke or Michigan State in the second round. That was going to be the end no matter what.
If we were a 6-11 seed in any other bracket I firmly believe we were a final four team.
Yep. Yeah small ball is preferred, but not necessarily at the 5.
Nerves? Tight rims? Defenses? A combo of all 3?
I think a combo of all three yeah.Jdrums#3 wrote: ↑2 months agoNerves? Tight rims? Defenses? A combo of all 3?
I was surprised they stopped play in the first instance as well, Ramster.ramster wrote: ↑2 months ago Not rooting for either team. But when Northwestern defensively rebounded the ball with a couple minutes left and then had a clear fast break advantage on FAU past half court and the Refs blew the whistle because FSU's Golden went to the floor that was poor officiating. The Ref should now have halted play when FAU had the advantage.
Replay shows Golden getting an elbow to the head and then went to the floor. Looked like an inadvertent elbow in the rebounding action to me.
Northwestern loses the advantage on offense. Play is stopped. Flagrant 1 is called. Golden gets 2 FT's plus FAU gets the ball as well. Huge turnaround in a very tight game, late in the game. The Ref's probably knew then should not have stopped action due to Golden going to the floor or somebody told them they screwed up. Ref's are then put in a position to try to justify why they stopped play and then physiologically pressured to call the Flagrant 1.
At that point I started rooting for Northwestern.
With seconds remaining the NW player brushed his hand over Golden't head. Just like touching his hair on the top of his head. But Golden does a delayed reaction like that hair brushing really hurt him. That made me doubt the overreaction to the rebounding elbow.
No place for faking injuries in basketball or flopping. Glad Northwestern took FAU out big time in OT.
Charles Barkley just called it a lucky break on a very bogus flagrant foul call.
PRT, JDrums - I know you were watching this one, what were your thoughts?
I think Uconn's region is absolutely brutal. I don't think they repeat. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Auburn beats them.PeterRamTime wrote: ↑2 months ago Well UConn is going to destroy NW.
FAU UConn could have been way more fun. Booooo
Agree. Terrible call against Samford. All ball.steviep123 wrote: ↑2 months agoSamford got absolutely hosed on this late foul call which was 100% a clean block. Could have cost them the game. Kansas was up 1 with 14.7 seconds left at the time:
I think FAU at their best could have given them a game, don't think NW has a chance in hell, but they could muddy it up for a little bit.steveystuds06 wrote: ↑2 months agoI think Uconn's region is absolutely brutal. On the flip side - teams that handled us are also winning games in the tourney. Northwestern. Wash St. Duquesne. Dayton.DeanDome88 wrote: ↑2 months ago Yale giving Auburn a game so far. It would be nice to see a team we beat win a game.
