They capitalized a little more and they are blowing them out
I didn’t expect it. That is what happens when you listen to TV talking heads whose employers contract with and primarily cover power conferences. The “experts” suffer from familiarity bias and I fall into their trap at times.
But, Duq is on a roll, peaking at the right time and playing hard for their coach.
Exactly.
Even the MTN west teams. Like Colorado St vs UVA was a mismatch. They refuse to imagine that mid majors have good teams. This BYU team is slow as molasses.
Regarding the “experts”…
One of the things I loved about Coach Chaney at Temple is He laughed in the face of the “expert” bias and would take his teams in the teeth of the beast to compete. No inferiority complex with him.
The A10 coaches need to adopt his mindset. No inferiority, no intimidation, no fear.
Man I hope Duquesne can hold on here, but they have a lot of mental midgets on their team (uh oh probably should not use that language). How do you get a lane violation on a two shot foul. Dumb. Clark III brilliant with that dumb foul in the first half and a dumb pass that led to his third foul. Same for Drame with his third. I hope they hold on but I have my doubts.
What is up with coaches not playing their best players. Let's keep the big lefty guy on the bench while they have no offense. Seriously that should be the easiest thing to do as a coach.
These are the games that still make the tournament great. Much of college basketball is ruined, but not the tourney. Great job making foul shots. Love Duquense winning, but can’t root for Dayton

Could not be more happy to be wrong! Way to go Dukes! The A10 needed that in a major way. Many thought they were over seeded and were a nine and a half point dog, which was by far the most for any six eleven match up. They play very good defense, no question about that.

Why the Christ can’t you root for Dayton?
He doesn't want that extra NCAA money for the conference and us I guess

When they came to the Ryan Center they played really physical. I'm glad they won for the conference.

Agreed, they came into the Ryan and pushed us around all game. Good for them, keep it rolling.

The way things are going with conferences and rosters I’m not going to think this is going to bring URI back to relevance. I can’t stand Dayton and their fans.

Is there a delay on the live Dayton Game? I'm streaming on Cox, but the score is different on CBS. CBS is about a minute ahead.

Anthony Grant is sometimes a terrible game coach
Wtf were they doing? 16-0 run by Nevada to end the half.
That may be the case (even though I do not agree) but what do you want him to do? He called a time out, brought back Holmes before the four minute time out that he was hoping to get to to give him some rest. Dayton is an offensively challenged team period. Nevada is an excellent defensive team. Dayton plays very good defense but they have that one guy that can make a bucket period. Kind of what I expected. Runs happen in basketball, yes 16-0 runs. Nevada was way under seeded, this was always going to be a very difficult game for them. They shot 3 for 12 from 3. To have any chance, they have to shoot 50% from three. Not likely to happen which is why I thought the A10 would be out of the tourney by 7 PM. But Dukes came through.

Oh I know that, it just seems like he doesn't adjust well offensively sometimes. They will fall in love with the three big time and lose.
