Or Valentine comes out of halftime and absolutely murders Archie and his team gets easy basket after easy basket and we go down double digits…Great coach and better team. I’m jealous…steveystuds06 wrote: ↑3 months agoI actually think we are playing pretty well defensively. There were a lot of times when Loyola tried to run the fast break, and we did a great job getting back on D. But we had a few minutes here and there where our offense was terrible, and our D sucked. That's the difference between a top A10 team and us. We are still in this game. Let's see if Archie can make some adjustments and try to get us some easier shots. I would try to get Weston in the Iso a little more. His man seemed to have some issues sticking with him.

We doubled. We caused a turnover… I know it’s not always going to work but it shouldn’t take us going down double digits for Archie to make an adjustment. We are what we are…a not very good team. And the coaching hasn’t been as good as we all expected. We are pathetic defensively and very undisciplined overall.

Re: 2/18 | Loyola Chicago | 12:00PM (CBSSN)
This is why it made no sense we allowed them to keep going 1 on 1 in the post and go up 13… They aren’t shooting well so far, until that changes let them keep shooting and double them to prevent these easy layups. Allowing that to happen over and over and over likely dug us into a hole that will prevent us from coming back. Bad job by Archie. Let’s hope not and we pull this out

We are poor defensively and can’t make FTS , that’s a recipe for losing games especially against a team that’s 10-2 in conference

Why do we always allow an opponent to more than double their season average in points?
Why does Archie hate Fou? Or is there some injury? We are getting destroyed on the boards but Arch is not changing anything.

Of course I meant screen printed shirts.BattleTested wrote: ↑3 months agoSo you’re just gonna give out blank white tshirts? Yea those would be $2 a pop. I’m assuming you would actually want something printed on them?Taylor Swift wrote: ↑3 months agoFor bulk apparel you can get these tshirts for about $2 a pop. Times 5000 that leaves you at $10k. Plus the fact athletics has contracts in place already with suppliers. Combined with the fact these tshirts typically have sponsor logos on it— $20k is a huge overestimate and peanuts to swallow. Tshirt giveaways are a standard.BattleTested wrote: ↑3 months ago
Orr…and hear me out on this…everyone complaining could try actually SHOWING UP TO GAME ON TIME… if you actually did that, you probably would get a tshirt. I appreciate the athletic department still trying to do stuff, I’m guessing tshirts are not cheap. Say around $4/shirt x 5000, $20,000 is a lot to swallow.
My guess is they didn’t have a sponsor who was able to foot the bill this late in the year. If I get there and see a sponsor logo on the shirts, then I’ll retract my statement and be annoyed.
Not blank.
SMFH.
My point is your calculation is way off. And yes…. there most definitely have been “tshirt sponsors” “this late in the season”.

Feels like we needed to extend that early 16-9 lead if we wanted a chance at staying in this one.
We had that 7 pt lead, with the ball and missed a 3. Just feels like with this team we really have to capitalize on teams early because we know we are going to collapse at some point. Especially when playing decent teams. Never feels like we can comeback and actually win. I still had ZERO hope when we got that 13 point deficit down to 4.

Probably just trying to pump up the A10, PRT. They are a good A10 team. Very difficult team to play. I don’t see them as a NCAAT team yet, imho.
Maybe they continue to improve and win to get in the bubble conversation ? Or go on an upset run to win the auto bid ?
We will see.

Very winnable game.
Good effort by Weston and Fuchs. Need more from the rest of the team. Still think Archie has to run Green when he has 4 fouls. Would rather him foul out than us lose ground in the game.

That was an Archie loss.
I’m not sure what more needed to be seen - but going zero bigs when adelekun was abusing Fuchs and we were getting almost doubled up on the boards is wild.
To hear Archie talking about giving up offensive rebounding and not “having our guys ready” to rebound…THEN MAKE A FUCKING SUBSTITUTION.
No Foumena the second half was deplorable. Cant imagine he’ll be here next year. Fuck this. Fuck everything. We’re a cursed people why do I continue to do this to myself.

Fuchs just has no motor and don’t see that getting better.
Multiple possessions first half where Loyola had repeated offensive rebounds with Fuchs stand ing at the top of the key not doing anything.
Can’t teach effort/motor and Fuchs just doesn’t have it.
Can score around the hoop and when he’s in position he can rebound, just minimal effort put in too often.

Re: 2/18 | Loyola Chicago | 12:00PM (CBSSN)
I’ve noticed people saying this quite a bit lately, but I’m struggling to see how a point guard could fix our team. Personally, I believe our offense is performing adequately, often even exceptionally. While Hammond will undoubtedly improve our offensive execution, I’m skeptical about how much a traditional small point guard can address our glaring issues with defense, rebounding, IQ, mental toughness, and unnecessary fouls. He also can’t fix others terrible FT shooting…Unless we’re able to acquire a point guard capable of single-handedly transforming both our offensive and defensive strategies, akin to someone like Devin Carter, it’s unlikely that Hammond alone can suffice. Hes definitely a pest on D but he has issues against bigger guards. I love Hammond but I hope people realize this kid is not a savior and we have a lot and I mean a lot of things to fix before we make a jump into the top of the A10.
Today sucked again. Valentine proves that you can get the very best out of your team and win in this league without incredible talent. I appreciate the fight from our guys. They wanted to win. But we’re a .500 A10 at best.
This sucks!

The fact that we got outrebounded because guys were gassed and Archie refused to play our bigs more than 5 mins a piece is disgusting.
I’m sad. I think we’re just a cursed program, God threw us a lifeline with Hurley, we squandered it, and now we just have to adjust that we’ll never go to an NCAA ever again. This is so fucking stupid.

I thought Fuchs was one of the few players battling and having some success today, He was very aggressive on the defensive end. He ended up with 3 steals and had a couple bullshit calls against him that should have been blocks. He also had some powerful finshes on the offensive end. I thought Green got absolutely abused in the post. I would have liked to see Foumena more though.Rhody15 wrote: ↑3 months ago Fuchs just has no motor and don’t see that getting better.
