12 turnovers to their 3
When you’re not a good 3 point shooting team, and your bigs can’t do anything down low. That is a recipe for disaster

Nice drive by House to draw the foul.
We are shooting well from the line. It’s keeping us in it.
Getting hurt on the boards though. Giving up too many O rebounds. Frig!

Too early to tell, but this weekend has been hugely disappointing, and I think there will be stayers, departures, and arrivals.theblueram wrote: ↑7 months ago So, do we go portalling again or can these guys get to at large caliber????

I really wish we had the NIL per player. That has to come out soon. We need to know who is getting paid what, so we can assess their worth.

This is tough to watch. Sadly, we have a lot further to go than I was hoping after the first 3. We look inept against a 2-3. Gotta figure that sh*t out, stat.

Not including Cam, our bench is giving us squat today and our bench is being badly outscored by theirs.
Brutal showing. Need to fix this somehow before the conference schedule starts.

So much for cautiously optimistic. Hugely disappointing weekend. Same crap we've seen the last few years. Soft as marshmallows underneath Defense is not good and we never change it up. Guards that keep forcing it in traffic and no one that can shoot the 3: pointer. Supposed to be a transition oriented team. Can't do that lf you don't rebound. Get some shooters. If they aren't strong man to man here's an idea play zone for a short time if you have to. Teams are going to clog the lane against us and we are going to struggle.

What a deflating finish to this game. Brutal.
We need House to play much better to have a shot at winning. He’s been a disappointment this weekend. He needs to bounce back soon or we will finish outside 10th place in the A10.

We have an improved front court but it still is not good enough yet to compete with good teams. Hopefully the coaching staff can coach them up. Recruiting while very important is not the whole job.

This offense looks so stagnant. I can’t really tell what they are running. Plus our defensive rebounding is atrocious. Need to figure that out.

Obviously bummed about the results of this weekend, but not actually surprised. Were still a couple pieces away
Shooting wise, I’m guessing Archie was optimistic that either Green would get a waiver, or Rory/Dubsky wouldn’t be so bad they couldn’t see the floor. Is what it is now.
Once Bilau is back and is a true banger in the post, we’ll have a better idea of this teams ceiling.

Did you actually watch the last two games? Our frontcourt was so exposed, they were playing in their underwear. Fuchs was just turrible. This team, unfortunately, is not the team.DeanDome88 wrote: ↑7 months ago We have an improved front court but it still is not good enough yet to compete with good teams. Until we find a couple guys who want to rebound we are going to struggle to beat most good teams. Still a lot of season left, but a disappointing weekend for sure. I had both of these games as losses in my prediction, but I was hoping to have a better showing in the process.

Rebounding is all about effort, less about skill. As we have seen this weekend, there was no effort from our bigs. We were severely beaten on the defensive glass, just no excuse for that.

For sure. I think I had them pegged at 8-5 OOC. But the downfall is, we don't have many players that look to improve in the next two years to bring us an At Large bid. That is a serious problem.adam914 wrote: ↑7 months ago Until we find a couple guys who want to rebound we are going to struggle to beat most good teams. Montgomery is hands down better than any forward we had last year. The staff needs to coach up the young bigs. I wrote they are not good enough to compete with good teams. What gave you the impression that I think this is the team?theblueram wrote: ↑7 months agoDid you actually watch the last two games? If you had URI pegged for 5 OOC losses, these 2 games were probably in that bunch. Shouldn’t be surprised really.theblueram wrote: ↑7 months agoFor sure. I think I had them pegged at 8-5 OOC. Also this isn’t a shot at you. I just went through the prediction thread and most people had the team with > 4 OOC losses. These 2, PC and pick your poison of one other were the likely culprits

@Cuttino, Brown was the only big that could slow down Jones when he was in, Not sure what game you’re watching. Also we have a full team of guards that are playing for themselves the don’t dish off.

I agree wholeheartedly with your rebounding point. Being a good rebounder has a lot to do with desire - you have to “want” to rebound. It’s a mindset.
Good post overall, too.

Playing against a 2-3 against 4 guys that are 6’7” is a recipe for disaster for us and where David Green would help big time
At least we had this weekend to give us a wake up call now instead of in two months.
Bilau will replace one of the two forwards in the starting lineup.
We’re a pure PG (hopefully Ben) and a true big like Cyril or Hassan away from being back to great

Re: 11/19 | Washington St | 3:30PM (ESPNU) | Hall of Fame Tip-Off
This weekend very much proved this team is not very good. The earlier double digit home wins over lesser competition do however seem to indicate that it is better than last year's team. Will most likely not see a dramatic jump this season but hopefully should see continued incremental growth. A lot of patience will be required.
