Dayton is officially forreal now.
It's been amazing watching them find themselves since halfway through the LSU game
That is NOT the same Dayton team that lost to NW.

Re: Games of Interest - 2023-2024 MBB
St. John's has two wins - Stony Brook by 16, and North Texas by 1. They've lost to Michigan, Dayton and that D-II team in the exhibition season. I think they're getting that sheen of being a decent team because of Pitino's presence, but it would still be unusual for a team to have success with so many transfers immediately. (Yes, some teams do have success with a ton of transfers right away, but not all of them.) I think its more likely that St. John's is average or meh this year, and get better next year with transfers and holdovers.rhodyram22 wrote: ↑7 months ago Ummmm, so are Dayton actually good this year or will they let the conference down like last year lol. Fordham beat a good Norfolk State team today 77-64 in the Virgin Islands Paradise Jam.
Center Tsimbila returned to action and scored 16 pts (5-6 FG, 6-7 FT)/ 9 rebs.

Young Rick Pitino ain’t walking through that door, or Chris Mullin, Walter Berry, Mark Jackson….
Rough start for the Johnnies, so far.
Good win for the conference.

Well of course. I expect their NET to be close to top 50, and Dayton close to 75-100.SGreenwell wrote: ↑7 months agoSt. John's has two wins - Stony Brook by 16, and North Texas by 1. He made the tournament two out of the last three at Iona.
Just because he’s old doesn’t mean he’s lost it.

Take a chill pill. I am just busting chops. I promise to be nice to Ricky from now on because you might get upset.
ETA: I take it you didn’t catch the irony of me using Rick’s spin of Rick’s Celts quote. Ooph. Talk about being tone deaf. Always ready to pounce.

Not a bad win, NSU went to the NCAAT 2 of the last 3 years, and last season lost in the finals of the MEAC championship.
Picked 2nd this season and have 3 players pre-season all-conference.
I wouldn't call them a cupcake.

Too bad that Fordham didn't have Tsimibila available for the Cornell game, they also aren't terrible.

Granted they are far from great but still better than several of the teams we played.

Jersey and Blueram I think you are both way off base….
I think they hired Archie for the sake of the sanity of the fan base.

Bona is getting spanked by Auburn. Still a lot of time left so I hope they can climb back in the game.

Davidson was favored by 5.5 at ETSU
I watched the last 5 minutes of this one.ETSU Was down by 8 at the half. ETSU Won by 2 over Davidson. Davidson had several opportunities during the last minute but could not capitalize.

Bad day for the A10, and several blown leads against weaker teams (maybe).
They went 3-5 today.
