Brown was favored by 5.5 tonight at New Hampshire but lost 82-64. Brown drops to 0-3
Clarence Daniels was a monster with a game high 36 points plus 9 rebounds. 10-15 FG and 5-8 3P's
We host Brown on Dec 6 and we host UNK on Dec 21. Looking forward to seeing Daniels at the Ryan Center.

My first thought was how the hell did Mitchell get a waiver? Then I realized that even the NCAA realizes how messed up it is that he's had to deal with Tony Bergeron

Loyola did lose their best player (F) Alston early in the game to injury and were also without the services of starting center Miles Rubin almost the entire 2nd half.
It is still way too early for me give up on them as an addition to the conference.

Year 1 - A10 Rookie of the Year at UMASS
Year 2 - 1st Team A10 at UMASS.
Year 3 - Transferred to Texas. Looking to play at a higher P5 level. Chris Beard came in from Texas Tech and brought in a bunch of transfers. Mitchell's playing time decreased, he left the team February 15th for undisclosed reasons. Was not a good fit with Beard. The infamous Rhody Vault Guarantee that Michell was transferring to URI
Year 4 - Transferred to West Virginia to play for Bobby Huggins. Huggins had driving incident and fired, otherwise Mitchell would have stayed. Transfers were very easy with NCAA post Covid and the new Free Transfer Year. Transfers like watermelon seeds per Jon Rothstein.
Year 5 - Transferred to Kentucky as a Grad Transfer. Played a game high 39 minutes for Kentucky vs #1 Kansas last night
Mitchell has improved his situation since leaving UMASS after a stumble at Texas.
Better to play 5th year at Kentucky instead of G-League? In his mind yes. More money than G-League? More fun playing at Kentucky than G-League? Probably yes to both

I get that Loyola added several quality transfers, but I have no idea how they were top five in both the preseason poll and preseason KenPom given that they were an absolute tire fire last year. Early results look like they'll be more of the same this time.NYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑7 months agoand Loyola loses to UIC....great add. Loyola is all over the place on rankings. Barttovik had Loyola 2 and Ken Pom 3.SmartyBarrett wrote: ↑7 months agoI get that Loyola added several quality transfers, but I have no idea how they were top five in both the preseason poll and preseason KenPom given that they were an absolute tire fire last year. A10 Coaches had them 8
Blue Ribbon, A10 Talk and Rothstein had them 12.
Ken Pom had Loyola #3. How does Loyola go from #15 last March to #3?
Blue Man has Loyola #13 and that might be kind. I'm adding Blue Man to the spreadsheet of 10 Prognosticators.
From Blueman.......Let me throw out mine then:
Dayton
Duquesne
VCU
Rhode Island
St Bonaventure
St Louis
Richmond
Fordham
Davidson
St Joes
UMass
GW
Loyola
George Mason
La Salle

Flipping through the games tonight here are some thoughts:
Richmond: Holding their own against BC, playing with good pace and an aggressive press defense. Working good against the size of BC down low. Think they will be a tough matchup this year.
VCU: Seems to be struggling a bit. Looks like they are trying to find and identity, definitely not the havoc style of the past few coaches. Would not expect them to be playing this close to Radford.
GM: Playing close with Cornell, seem like they can get hot but overall not super impressed.

Seton Hall blitzed Albany, 96-71. Sebastian Thomas, reverting to performance seen in his URI days, scored 7 points on 2-11 FG, 1-5 3-PTS, 2-2 FT, 4 TO's.

Some good games for A10 programs today:
Saint Louis Vs Wyoming (Myrtle Beach)
Dayton Vs LSU (Charleston)
Oklahoma State vs St. Bonaventure (Legends)
Non conference opponent Charleston is currently playing Vermont in the Charleston classic. 11:30 start.

I really don’t see this as melting down.
He’s clearly frustrated with his team, but clearly thinks they aren’t being treated as harshly as they deserve. Honestly I see that as ownership of the situation more than anything

If that was in his home arena and Georgetown student reporters, maybe. But his team got beat solidly in an opposing arena where the student section was giving him shit because they believe he used backchannels to convince Cam Spencer to leave their school. He couldn't do anything about the results on the court or do anything to the student section, so big bad Ed took it out on the student reporters for Rutgers. It was cowardly, fake tough guy bullshit

Ed Cooley is just a narcissistic dumbass.
G-Town is a massive rebuild and therefore a pretty huge risk because of the standards there. I just don't get the move. I mean G-Town is basically DePaul right now. He left there because G-Town has a higher ceiling? Okay yes they do...but can you get them out of the cellar of the Big East, into the tournament, win tournament games and then male final fours? I guess he wanted the challenge. Didn't have to go about it in the worst way possible.
Excited to watch him fail!

Tim Dalger- former Rhody target in the portal, looked really good in this game. If we felt like Green can give us what Dalger is giving SLU then we are really missing out.
Good win for SLU. Wyoming's a pretty decent team. A game you gotta win if you're SLU and they got it done.
They don't have a Yuri Collins anymore, but I like their athleticism and the way they move the ball. They just take a lot of tough two's. Seems like they settle for tough shots a little too often. They'll play Vermont tomorrow. Way to help out the conference today SLU!
Next up Dayton.
