Love this. If you’re not first, you’re last.
Great bulletin board material for the team. And the story + media coverage is a lot more exciting if you’re predicted to finish 14th but finish 6th, than if you’re predicted to finish 8th and finish 6th
Been pretty clear over the years these polls are quite terrible

And the A10 media day presentation on ESPN+ is experiencing technical difficulties at the end of the URI presentation. If that doesn't encapsulate everything wrong with this garbage conference...

Yep. URI was almost finished but then they do another 5-10 minutes or so after the press conference. I watched St Louis prior to URI coming on.RhowdyRam02 wrote: ↑8 months ago And the A10 media day presentation on ESPN+ is experiencing technical difficulties at the end of the URI presentation. So we lost the last few minutes of the main press conference plus the remote with Archie, Luis and the interviewer.
No excuse for this technical difficulty but am I surprised ? No.
It is still down.

Re: A10 Media Day MBB Tuesday Oct 17
So 15-20 minutes later it's back, but almost the entire UMass portion is done before it comes back, but we'll get their smaller interviews afterwards. If you know your media partner is having technical difficulties how do you plow ahead instead of pausing the proceedings? If you don't know your media partner is having technical difficulties than what the hell are you even doing?
This is such a low rent, garbage conference all the way to the top

Obviously these preseason polls are meaningless, but no way we finish 14th this season. I'd be shocked.

Re: A10 Media Day MBB Tuesday Oct 17
We could probably go through past threads here, to see if there is a decent correlation between preseason prediction and regular season finish. My suspicion would be that while you can peg the top three or four teams somewhat easily, from there, its just a bunch of teams that are hard to predict. (How much did their roster turnover? Are their incoming recruits or transfers any good? etc.)

Also wasn’t Loyola picked 4th last year and finished dead last?SGreenwell wrote: ↑8 months agoWe could probably go through past threads here, to see if there is a decent correlation between preseason prediction and regular season finish. Hopefully we can do that in reverse this season.

Yeah, I would think you're probably right there. And even more so this season with us specifically, just so many unknowns.SGreenwell wrote: ↑8 months agoWe could probably go through past threads here, to see if there is a decent correlation between preseason prediction and regular season finish. That Fuchs part really stood out to me as well. Archie makes a solid point about the physical aspect. That is usually the biggest obstacle to overcome for freshman, so having him already ahead of the game there will be nice.

Sure sounds like Luis will be given every opportunity to be the floor general for this team.

Goodman wouldn’t let Archie get in more than 4 words at a time in his interview with Field of 68.

Well, next to last? Well, we will just have to see about that. Great motivation for players? Hope so. Respect is earned they say. Time to get earning, take the out of conference sked as learning time and growth. Just babbling on here now, just trying to my head around the expected steady program growth. Go Rhody.

First three games, all at home, vs teams ranked 341 262 and 303 last year, in that order.
Hopefully they start 3-0 with some double-digit wins, and more importantly, some good play.
Last year we lost the first two at home to Quinnipiac and Texas State.

Yes, all three should be double-digit wins.rhodyrudder wrote: ↑8 months ago First three games, all at home, vs teams ranked 341 262 and 303 last year, in that order.

Good opportunity for Archie to clear the bench and give all the players court time.

Looks like a schedule I would like if I were Archie breaking in a whole new team. Gee, I wonder if it was planned? I guess Kentucky wasn't available. (DUH. Hoping we beat those three teams worse than that! First off all just win, but I think we can already prove we are much more improved than last year if we blow those teams out.ramster wrote: ↑8 months agoLove the optimism about being able to clear the bench. Early pre-conference sked was clearly constructed to further build confidence going into A-10. No?

We should be able to sit our starters for almost the whole 2nd half against J&W.
