They fight each other. Like cock fighting, they put two camels against each other in a "ring" of sorts.
A few years ago when they had a player leading the nation in scoring, the Eye on College Basketball podcast mentioned the school's mascot and then spent like 20 minutes discussing the sport of camel fighting. It was both interesting/informative and hilarious.

I think I like camels more than horses. They're just more chill and I appreciate that. Horses make me nervous.

I grew up around horses (and cows). Horses are shifty/quick and can kick to a spot like a frog nabbing a fly....never trusted them. Cows are more chill, too. In either case, it's all about angles and distancePeterRamTime wrote: ↑1 year agoJust don't look up the videos where they slaughter them in public over in the middle east....(bet you can't resist)McRam wrote: ↑1 year agoRhody Kyle. So maybe we should become “The fighting Rams”. Is there someplace in the world that they have Ram fights?
Maybe that would give us more “tradition”

Oh well, Hudson following his previous coach Lanier to SMU.
Of the 4's available that we reached out to, he was one of my favorites, but a longshot.

People need to really think about how cool this could be....couple Rams ramming each other at center court with a massive explosion/light flaxh when they do...and big giant cartoon Rhody Rams rammin' each other on the big screen...PeterRamTime wrote: ↑1 year agoThey do that naturally

Providence Journal cartoonist Frank Lanning had some awesome Ram drawings. I would like his Ram as our logo.

Here is a PG that we discussed earlier, I was hoping but knew he was a longshot.
He checks all the boxes and will be a great addition for the Gophers.

Oh, after we signed Kortright and Wright, back to back like that, there was no chance in hell of them signing another point guard.
No surprise here, just a matter of what other team was going to take him.
My guess is that Archie doesn't like undersized PGs. To each their own, he's going to make the meal, so let him pick his own groceries. Doesn't bode well for Tyson Wheeler's son.

As was I. And not sure Archie has something against undersized PGs as he was one himself. He's 5'11. We just didn't land him or didn't want him.

btw, 15...
"Doesn't bode well for Tyson Wheeler's son"
Does NOT mean:
"I want to sign Tyson Wheeler's son"
You have to bridge those two statements together, and I didn't make that bridge.

Pitino wanted to come here but the majority of this board wanted David Cox and his 6 star recruiting class. How did that work out Kyle and the others that wanted to ban me from the board for being so pro Pitino and anti Cox. I accepted that but for all of you that wanted no part of Pitino don't be so hypocritical and praise him for what he's now doing at St. John's and what he did at Iona. It could have been us. That being said, we have a first class coach who I believe can get it done. Unfortunately the playing field will never be level again, if in fact it ever was.

URI has bumbled the ball a few times by not hiring Tyson Wheeler as an assistant coach. There has always been only upside for a move lkike this and no downside.

If we want to get back into the New England prep scene, he would be a welcome addition. And he's from Michigan. Austin is from Mass. What a difference that would make.

Kudos on holding a grudge for this long, though (I even said that in my one post to you about Slick Rick). In the wise words of Don Draper, "I don't think about you at all."

Can we please stop this? No matter if everyone or no one here wanted Pitino, the President of the University at the time who had the decision was a solid no and a hard pass, so it wasn't going to happen.Cameron_Dollar wrote: ↑1 year agoPitino wanted to come here but the majority of this board wanted David Cox and his 6 star recruiting class. Personally, I would have loved it for a couple of reasons - he would have kept the winning going (assuming he really was a legit candidate at the time and not some pipe dream) and second, the mental gymnastics friar fans would have had to have gone through to either root for their "nonrival" or root against their beloved former coach from 35 years ago would have been the highest of high comedy.
I also knew it was a nonstarter b/c the person in charge was dead against it.
Bleed Keaney Blue!

After what "Muskrat Bramble" put this University through, I'm not surprised that a URI President was a road block to immediate basketball success.

Definitely keeping my eye out for a few names. Players need to submit the paperwork by the 11th so you may still see some players officially enter after that too.

Re: The Men's Basketball Transfer Carousel 2023-24
I know the rule is that a school has 48 hours to get the kid in the portal after being notified by the kid of their wish to transfer. Is the 11th the deadline to actually get into the portal or the deadline to notify the school of the intent to transfer?
