Looks like he started in JUCO, so he’s technically a junior (only 2 years at Tulsa).

Stevey and I watched him in Daytona (2021) when we played Tulsa.
He started and had a decent game 12 pts (8-8 FT) / 8 rebs.

As of right now I think the only thing that has happened is he followed KJ back on social media. Haven’t heard anything about a visit but let’s hope so.
He looked good when we saw him in Daytona

Have heard of a couple other 6’6/6’7 wings that we have shown interest in of late. Of similar profile as Dalger.

Very athletic!
Which is something that's gone unnoticed about all our new additions to date.
All of them are above average athletes and that was something we were sorely lacking last year.
Underrated thing Archie and staff have 100% improved on this offseason

Re: General Visits/transfer recruiting
Just highlights, but he looks pretty good.
I like the way he goes to the boards hard when a shot goes up.
Also like how he reads the defense and seems to take what is there.
Would help us run some 4 out 1 in offense.

Putting Malik in same athletic category as Jalen and Alex is cray cray. Was there any player blocked from behind more in Rhody history than Malik. He was strong as an ox, but had no vert and wasn’t particularly quick.McRam wrote: ↑1 year agoAside from Bassy, are they really more athletic than Ish, Malik, Alex, Carey, Hutch?.PeterRamTime wrote: ↑1 year agoVery athletic!

While I still think we need more talent I would agree that overall we added more athleticism and shooting.

Re: General Visits/transfer recruiting
Athleticism is one thing. Athleticism from someone who has it and can play focused and in control is something different.
So far, we've had athleticism that didn't translate into very good basketball play. I think this year's crop has athleticism, but they can actually use it to make plays at a higher rate.
Ish had controlled athleticism. A lot of those other guys you mentioned were "coming in hot" all of the time. And as someone else said, Martin wasn't particularly athletic, relatively speaking.

The staff has been together a year now and we were awful this past season.
Even though as a package the additions may be better, not sure individually any one of them is better than Ish or Bray.
I still think we have a long way to go before I have high expectations for this team.

Bray didn't play defense. Re: General Visits/transfer recruiting
I think we successfully replaced Bray. House is at least that. Perhaps not Ish though.
We just no longer have that marquise player. But we do have an upgrade in talent.
I didn't pick Ish to be the leading scorer last season. I didn't really see that happening based on the previous year, but there you go. Someone else may step it up, and become that guy, from this crop. Who has the potential to drop 20 or more in multiple games this year? Probably House does. Then it's whoever steps it up after that. Wright, Montgomery? Someone who fills that 12th scholarship?

You haven’t watched the transfers play defense for us or the incoming freshman play D1 defense, so I don’t see how you can make that blanket statement that every player next season will be better defensively than Freeman.

I know steals isn’t the end all be all for judging defense, but it is a small piece of the puzzle.

Freeman is the worst defensive player I have ever seen play at URI. Bar none.
He played effortless defense and I do mean effortless.
I saw it right from the start in the scrimmage game. Never improved.

I think we have improved defensively, size and likely made up for Bray and Bassey's offense with Always and Luis.
I'll guarantee Always and Luis will at the very least be more efficient. Neither seem to have a history of forcing shots and they're bigger which usually helps with defense too.

Re: General Visits/transfer recruiting
From the video, it looks like he can play solidly at the A10 level. Looks to have the ability to shoot from 3, be aggressive at the rim and on the boards and looks to have good athleticism to play D.
I’d be good with the signing for front court help.
ETA: would be a win if he can be a taller, more athletic Malik and match his all around production, at least.

David Jones? I'm a Believer.
He can certainly score (but a high volume guy) and shoots FTs very well.
Add Jones plus a reliable big and we are pretty solid. It would be a big step forward at least from a roster talent perspective.

Big Apple, A couple points about Malik. Yes, his shots were blocked at the basket a lot, and yes he was a very undersized 4. Furthermore, Malik was a very effective effective defensive player . Don’t you think that His ability to consistently play good defense against slashing wing players , is an indication of his athleticism.? And the fact that he led the teams in blocked shots, also indicates his athleticism.
