What will be the mood if we do not land a quality transfer in the next two weeks?

Right now we wouldn't even win 9 games next season with what is left. Not even close to 9.
And the recruiting period in November for the 24-25 season is even more vital.
I would love to know how our NIL collective compares to our peers.
If Archie's hands are tied, we are truly fucked.
"think"? or hope?
It would be interesting to see how much NIL is out there...but I'm guessing it's like trying to nail jello to a tree...I mean, the right *Nilrod (another new term I'm taking credit for) could need a $100K commercial at any time...it's not like there's a cap or timeframe parameters or anything, are there?
*Nilrod: One that provides the "dough" part of "nildo"

He’s too good for the A10, will be starting at a P6 team next season.

Another decent big in the portal, also 38% from 3.

He was a 4* star from NJ, prepped at LI Lutheran.
Didn't get much play at PC, but was a stud in HS.
Has 3 years eligibility.

I’m trying to think of a player that was on both PC and URI rosters?

Pierre was well liked by many 247Friars posters during the season. Several wanted him to get more playing time
Reading this thread on Pierre going portal several still think highly of him and hate to see him go. Some think he could be going with the "fraud"
Better than going to the fraud would be if he lands in Kingston.
Would love to see him come 35 miles south. Could have Sly Williams give him a call.

This is a guy we should try to land. He seems to be someone that will keep improving, is well liked by everyone he has played with, unselfish and has 3 years of eligibility left. Xavier, Creighton and Minnesota tried to get him also before he landed with PC.Jersey77 wrote: ↑1 year agoHe is a PG with great vision and passing ability.Billyboy78 wrote: ↑1 year ago You are right, Ace.

Re: The Men's Basketball Transfer Carousel 2023-24
The "Prioritized by Rhode Island" comment was from 2020. I wasn't crazy about hrstrat57 putting them back to back like that, it made it seem like we were close to getting a commitment from him. Got all excited for nothing. Seems like a sound PG, but who knows if Archie is even interested in him or if he fits Archie's offense. He was a David Cox recruit.

Re: The Men's Basketball Transfer Carousel 2023-24
I think they need to prioritize some guys like Pierre that have 2-3 years left and will probably not be transferring again. Almost impossible to know what the actual rules our in regards to the portal these days, but continuity along with some older transfers and especially over everything else 3 point shooting are a recipe for success.

I'm the one who posted that. I was asking Jersey if he remembered that we were prioritizing him. I know it was Cox and staff, but my point was we were pretty involved with him.jcru wrote: ↑1 year ago The "Prioritized by Rhode Island" comment was from 2020. But felt we were a longshot and his recruitment kept heating up.
I knew Pikiell wanted him and thought he would end up at Rutgers.
I imagine he will still get plenty of interest but hope we are in the mix.
I think he would be perfect for Archie's system; he was also strong on defense.

Re: The Men's Basketball Transfer Carousel 2023-24
jcru only recent posts I’ve made regarding specific recruits was stating that I was all in on Records four years ago but Cox was not interested in local talent. I’m all in on Pierre too.jcru wrote: ↑1 year ago The "Prioritized by Rhode Island" comment was from 2020. I’m still in on Records.

Saw an IU kid just entered portal. Any chance Archie recruited him? Think he is a soph so that would be during his time there ?

Tamar Bates? Woodson signed him. Bates originally signed with Shaka and Texas. Could he be headed to Marquette?bigappleram wrote: ↑1 year ago Saw an IU kid just entered portal. Any chance Archie recruited him? Think he is a soph so that would be during his time there ?

If I’m driving him, the only place I’m heading to is Kingston, RI.
Couldn’t resist, Ace. Carry on with the respectable portal speculation.

Re: The Men's Basketball Transfer Carousel 2023-24
I would think it would be a very long shot, but at least there is a connection.
"Indiana sophomore forward Jordan Geronimo is entering the NCAA transfer portal.
A four-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class, the 6-foot-6 Geronimo spent three seasons in Bloomington.
Recruited out of high school by Archie Miller, Geronimo entered the transfer portal after Miller was fired following the 2020-21 season but opted to return to play the next two seasons for Mike Woodson"
