The way this season has gone, we can win the A10 tournament and still go to the NIT.

Nice location for East Regional, once upon a distant time ago, a MetroNorth trip down to see URI in NIT semi in the Baron era, and the RI Flood event at home. Hope we don’t look back on those days, as the good old days…….

100% 1 of the 2 most egregious non calls in a big Rhody post season game. Second only to Arthur Lee obviously and purposely fouling Cuttino Mobley in 1998 Elite 8 to force foul shots. Everyone in the stands and on tv knew it, except the refs. Of course, no call, steal, dunk and the and 1 foul on ARD (which had less contact than Lee's "steal"). I will never forget how badly we got hosed on that game. Yes, we still had plenty of chances after that, but it shouldn't have come to it.Rhody15 wrote: ↑1 year agoUlmer was tripped.section(105) wrote: ↑1 year ago Nice location for East Regional, once upon a distant time ago, a MetroNorth trip down to see URI in NIT semi in the Baron era, and the RI Flood event at home. Re: 2023 CBB Post Season All Things NCAA/NIT
Weren't we either down 3 or tied? I think at least down three because iirc, the third miss was an on purpose miss. Also Tyson's pass that went through/by ARD for an unforced turnover. The comedy of errors and meltdown in that last minute. Someone wrote up 6 with under a minute. I recall the score being 70-59 with just over a minute. If my memory is correct, Stanford outscored us 20-7 in that last spot of time. Of course my memory could be wrong, and I will say NONE of it happens if the ref calls the obvious "I'm trying to foul Mobley to stop the clock" that HAPPENS EVERY FN GAME!theblueram wrote: ↑1 year agoTyson missed (unbelievably) 3 free throws. Sorry to bring up bad memories, but my God that was horrendous! (Next up, that very questionable offensive foul call on EC Matthews that negated a 3 pointer vs. Oregon in 2017)....

Re: 2023 CBB Post Season All Things NCAA/NIT
I believe our biggest lead was 11 but that was with about 5 minutes left then we kind of took the air out of the ball
We were up 65-59 with 59 secs left that’s when Arthur Lee hit a really tough 3 to close it to 3 then they started playing the foul game

Re: 2023 CBB Post Season All Things NCAA/NIT
Merrimack beats FDU 67-66 at home to win the NEC Tournament Championship but will not represent the league in the NCAA Tournament. The nine member NEC had two transitioning to D1 teams compete in this past season - Merrimack and Stonhell. These teams had the first and second best league records (Stonehill tied for 2nd at 10-6 with FDU) but are not eligible for the NCAA Tournament due to their transition status (must complete 4 seasons). The NEC however allowed Merrimack to participate in their league tournament but excluded first year Stonehill. Despite losing the conference championship game, FDU will get the NCAA automatic bid for the NEC.

Iona beat lowly Marist by an average of 22 points this season in both games.section(105) wrote: ↑1 year ago Bid stealer on the way? Marist College plays Iona in MAAC Final tonite. Maybe Pitino distracted ?
If Iona loses, maybe St. John's should rethink about hiring Slick Rick.

Is Iona a lock? Not sure it's really a bid stealing scenario.section(105) wrote: ↑1 year ago Bid stealer on the way? Marist College plays Iona in MAAC Final tonite. Maybe Pitino distracted ?
A scenario worth watching is Ohio St - made it to the B1G semis and they aren't anywhere near the bubble so they could be a bid thief.

I think UAB gonna steal a bid today
Watched them beat FAU handily last month after UAB got back their best player back. They've only lost one game since they've had him back in the fold.

Villanova needs some time to recover from losing Wright (and absolutely good for him for getting out on his terms), and Temple might be cursed for pushing out Dunphy and making him go along with the whole “McKie as successor” thing. Drexel and Penn had good seasons, St. Joe’s and La Salle were meh.

I understand putting him for ratings and entertainment purposes, but it’s not fair to put non college bb people on tournament coverage.

So sad how far this conference has fallen.
The days of 4-5 teams will probably never be seen again.

Can Pee Cee and Kentucky both lose?
if UConn plays like they can, the bracket helps them possibly get to final four.

I wish I had lost this bet!
I’m still waiting on my season tickets from someone who bet me Jermaine Harris would average 10 and 5 along with a 4 pack of Shaidzon from someone who said we’d be in masks the next three years.
