Another kid who we recruited who isn’t playing a lot of time I can see us possibly going after (but he doesn’t have alot to show cuz he barely plays) would be UConn’s Richie Springs
From Brooklyn and Seton Hall did offer him so Duane probably knows him
I know we recruited him in the past, and figured he would have transferred from UConn the last few seasons.
But a "Big No" to him now.
His 4 years at UConn only played in 26 games, with no real stats.
He is probably a great kid, but we are in desperate need of impact players upfront.
I think there will be much better choices out there.

I think there’s an equal chance he stays at UConn in a grad position or similar real job role as there is that he transfers. He was a late re-class and had to redshirt his first year, which is the only year he may have gotten on the court for them. He is a good rebounder but hasn’t shown much scoring ability. I think he’d have to drop down below an A10 level to contribute.

So do we have any '24 recruits that are quality we think will commit and sign in October?
I want Jalik Dunkley Distant, but I doubt we get him
I know you follow recruits Billyboy, so I'll take your word on this one. Staff is keeping things quiet, but I'm hoping we land someone of significance this cycle.

Not sure why he doesn't have a page on our recruiting thread.

Well Blueram, he is a 4* and getting lots of interest.
Maybe with our current connections there it will help in our recruitment.
That would be something if Archie can snag him.

If the kid can rebound AND play D then he has a spot on my team.

That is what we now call the “Blue” Plate special.
4 stars babyyyyyyy
For Blueram it has to be more than just mentioning interest, he wants us to land them.
No it doesn't. But I do want us to land some. It's a tough fight against the P5, but I hope we have a coach and assistants that can get the sale across finish line. Top One Hundy Baby!!!!!!!

This staff should be capable of landing some of these recruits along with some high impact transfers and jucos.
I expect it from them.

Agreed Jersey. We have a very experienced staff right now. They can get it done.

I think we can un pin last years recruits and open a thread on a 4* prospect in Kaden Magwood. Time to move this program forward.
Unpin, lock, delete, and then delete again the Harris thread.
Read that he didn’t go Juco route for grades. So must have been more development and wasn’t happy with his offers first time around. Can’t even find a 24/7 on him. Played in Joplin, Missouri for high school.

Hey, idc where he comes from! Jermaine Harris was a 4 star and he sucked lol.
"Every season, college basketball has one or two teams that rise from dormancy to relevancy, squads that make long-awaited charges at the NCAA Tournament and become really fun storylines along the way."
I have only seen him on the one video posted above but, off of that, I agree, Iggy. He is a nice player: good handle, sees the floor well, shoots from the outside well ( though appears to be more of a set shot than a jump shot ). That said, off of that vid above, he doesn’t appear to have the speed and athleticism currently to play D1.
I am not a coach or scout, however. Just my first impression, fwiw.
Well, unless we are talking about old high school players from the last few years who we recruited, it's probably not going to come from this dept.
It will be grad students and first time transfers and a possible JUCO. Tis the season.
Gone, I believe, are the days of scrambling to get late, uncommitted freshman recruits who fell through the cracks in the weeks after the tournament. I mean, there is always the chance of that happening, but not the desperation of it happening like before. Much more likely the other variety of recruits.
I don't know when they can announce 2024 commitments, so that would be the time for incoming freshmen recruits, most likely.

A 2024 commit can declare anytime they want. This is a HS recruit thread. Nothing else.

Since the original thread is now 8+ years old, with more than 5,800 posts in it... I figured it makes sense to start breaking these out, year by year. Makes comparisons easier, in a way. If I'm feeling ambitious, I might split the previous thread, even!
I realize it's early, but I'm excited to see what recruits Archie goes after. Kind of like Dan, I imagine we'll be targeting more nationally recruited guys, and have more faith in landing and retaining them. Right now, Isiah Miranda is the only recruit we've technically offered above a two-star that is unsigned.
SG, per your post above about breaking out recruiting thread year by year, do you plan on starting a new thread 23-24 since we are done with 22-23?
What is Tony Bergeron doing these days? I know he's slimy, but doesn't he have something to do with New England prep basketball? The reason I ask is because Kenny Johnson recently followed him. Kenny also followed Jordan Tillmon, a player from Florida A&M.
Last I heard sleazy Tony B was at one of these fake basketball high schools somewhere in PA. I'm sure he has some players in his pocket to trade for favors.

Blueram was fast on the draw for this one, thanks
Ha, yeah - Blueram did the honors. I'll lock this one for a few days, so that the new one will be used properly.
