Source: Bruins, Stars make 7-player trade.
According to an NHL source, the Bruins sent forward Tyler Seguin, center Rich Peverley and defenseman Ryan Button to the Stars for forward Loui Eriksson and prospects Reilly Smith, Matt Fraser and Joe Morrow.
Eriksson is a real goal scorer, a left wing, and one of the Stars' captains.
B's also get cap space by dumping Peverely. Rest of the players look like throw ins.

Re: Tyler Seguin - C-YA!
Joe Morrow isn't a throw-in. He's a potential top 4 D-man, he's like Johnny Boychuk was at that age only he's a strong skater.
Matt Fraser was an UDFA out of juniors and is a grinder type that has a knack for scoring dirty goals at big times. He's netted 70 in the last two years in the AHL. He can play either wing...I think his style is close to Greg Campbell's if Campbell couldn't take faceoffs or get his ass kicked in literally every fight he's been in his career.
Reilly Smith's style of play is actually pretty much Rich Peverley, only with the ability to snipe on shootouts.

Re: Tyler Seguin - C-YA!
I think this is a good trade for both sides. I'm just happy that I can see both of my favorite teams improve. Loui is a great player (and the b's got some top prospects too), and now Seguin can play a more skill friendly style at his natural center position, and the Stars can move Jamie Benn back to left wing.

Per CBS Sports and others, Iginla has signed a one-year deal with the Bruins: http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/blog/eye-o ... ton-bruins

Also, I changed Rod's original thread title a little, so that we could keep the Bruins' talk in this one topic, for ease of reading.

I laughed.
1 year, $1.8m with up to $4.2m in incentives? Yes please.

Good deal. Perfect fit at RW, and one of the all time greats.
Bruins should be exciting next season.

Heard chatter on WEEI late this afternoon that Bruins posted a guard recently at Seguin's hotel room door to keep him from sneaking out at night.....pretty hard to believe!!
We're gonna run the picket fence at "em.....now boys don't get caught watchin' the paint dry!
