Re: Where Are They Now? Former Player Results and News
Abdul fox is one of my favorite rams of all time.
Looks like the athletic department and maybe if coach miller heard of the complaints about not having Rhody’s past be on display.
Looks like they are finally going out of their way to bring whoever they can back and I’m sure all have had a chat with the coaches and team.
Good stuff RHODY!!!

Damont Collins is one of my all-time favorites. Maybe the toughest Ram I've ever seen.

Since I bumped up Murphy's thread - Tyson Wheeler Jr.'s senior high school season starts tomorrow. It seems like he's at the same high school, which (I think) plays D-III in CT. He was named to the All-Division team last year, but he isn't on Verbal Commits or the New England Recruiting Report's rankings. Unless he's grown, he's in the 5'7" range, and likely more of a D-II or lower D-I school target. His Twitter account is here.

Louis Orr passed away from cancer. He paired with Roosevelt Bouie back in the day to form a formidable Syracuse team in the East.

The UMass game is being referred to as the 'Hall of Fame' game with the 'Ring of Honor Induction'. Have I missed details of this? Like who is going up/in? I knew about the '88 and '98 teams being honored, but didn't know any other details.

The Toronto Raptors announced Thursday they have waived forward Justin Champagnie (Sham-Penny). Toronto’s roster now stands at 14, with two two-way players. Champagnie, 6-foot-6, 202 pounds, averaged 2.2 rebounds, 1.9 rebounds and 7.5 minutes in 39 career games with the Raptors. He scored in double figures twice, including a career-high 14 points Jan. 4, 2022 against San Antonio. Champagnie originally signed a two-way contract with Toronto in the summer of 2021.LoveThoseRams wrote: ↑1 year agoBy far my favorite Ram…just hoping someone else will compete for that honor!
Fred VanVleet was out for injury Thursday night helping Dowtin get some playing time.

With Terrell's athleticism and build, I’m very surprised he wasn’t able to stay in the league.

Unfortunately, it's looking more like his shooting mark as a senior was an outlier, vs. sustained improvement. In his pro career, his highest 3-point percentage was 35.5 percent in 37 games in the Ukraine league, and he's more often hovered near 30 percent. I agree with you though that his defense and ability to attack the basket means he'll probably be a pro for a good, long time.

Re: Where Are They Now? Former Player Results and News
I'm yet to see a Dowtin mistake at the NBA level. He looks super human in G-league play, and looks like an absolute pro for the Raptors.
11:2 assists to turnovers.
He's only played 11 games, and the Raptors have 45 to go. As a two-way player, he can appear in 50 max until they have to re-structure his contract and actually sign him. So we should be rooting for Jeff to play in 40/45 remaining games, which would guarantee him an NBA contract.
Hopefully FVV takes a lot of rest time to heal up his back.
Also, if the Raptors could bring back the 00 jerseys so I could buy a Dowtin one that would be cool.

Not really sure why he doesn’t get more run there , he should not be a 2 way instead a backup Point guard getting 12-18 minutes a gameBlue Man wrote: ↑1 year agoI'm yet to see a Dowtin mistake at the NBA level. He looks super human in G-league play, and looks like an absolute pro for the Raptors.

The Raptors control him as a “cheap” two way player. they have no reason to offer him a more expensive NBA minimum contract. It will happen !

Mekhi Long went for 19 and 19 for Old Dominion yesterday. It looks like he found his landing spot. This is a case where the portal worked well. I don’t think he would have put up a stat line like that in the A10.

I liked Mekhi’s game. Old Dominion has a good coach and is in a good league. I’m surprised by the 19 rebounds, but who wouldn’t be. I’m not so sure his talent wouldn’t translate well to the A-10. The A-10 isn’t a top 10 conference anymore.

Actually I was a little disappointed when he left and thought he had potential as a freshman.
Currently averaging about 10 pts/ 8 rebs.
Let's also remember that 2 teams currently in the bottom half of the Sun Belt standings Texas State and Georgia State both beat us this season.

Actually BAR, not a bad comparison.bigappleram wrote: ↑1 year ago Agreed. Of course he could play here. He’s basically a Malik clone. And we see how impt Malik can be.
Although I think he has more upside (only a junior) and a little taller.
His shooting percentages are much better than Malik's: 45% FG (40%), 36% 3PT (30%) and a better FT shooter.

Re: Where Are They Now? Former Player Results and News
Good point. I had the older version of the A10 in my head, not the A10 of the past 2 1/2 years. The fact that Long could play in the current A10 may say more about the league than about him. I know league strength runs in cycles and the hiring of name coaches at several schools can help, but I wonder about the future of the league. In Lunardi’s bracketology the other day, he had VCU as the automatic qualifier (pre loss to the Bonnies) and a 12 seed. Not good to have your league champion as a 12 seed.KevanBoyles wrote: ↑1 year ago I liked Mekhi’s game. Old Dominion has a good coach and is in a good league. Honestly we’d be lucky to get that. Thanks to PC the conference has ONE Q1 win. One legit win out of 15 teams and 150ish total OOC games.JimSidd wrote: ↑1 year agoGood point. A Toppin transfer to Kentucky and a potential Leggett transfer to a P6 school couldn’t be compared in the slightest.
Two completely different players and circumstances.
