Now the conference's ONLY Q1 win.

We were talking about it last night - I don't see a path forward for an at large team in the A10. Even running the table gives you a collection of AT BEST a Q2 win.

It is almost a guarantee that there will be zero Q1 games in the A10 this year. Meaning, a game on the road at a top 75 team. Dayton is the highest ranked team in the A10 at 67. They're the only one technically presenting as a Q1 game for a visiting team.

For an opponent to get them as a Q1 win, that would mean someone would have to beat them at UD arena. HOWEVER, if Dayton were to lose a home game, say even to 2nd highest ranked St Louis (currently 105), that would be a Q3 loss for them, and it would drop Dayton out of Q1 and it would become a Q2 win.

This is the worst A10 of our lifetimes. One bid league. Woof.

I just think it's going to be a rock fight, every game, this year. I think Dayton will end up looking OK by metrics year's end - they're at 52 in KenPom now, maybe they can sneak into the at-large discussion with a long win streak. But excluding them and La Salle, I think every team has at least a 60/40, 70/30 shot against each other. It wouldn't surprise me if the final standings are Dayton, big gap, then a bunch of other teams muddled together.
Yes SG, it is starting to look that way.
I realize starter Pickett missed last night's game, but no excuses for SLU this season, with all their talent and firepower.

Say it ain’t so Travis Ford !!! Big disappointment to say the least

For half a second I thought you meant Fletcher McGee from Wofford and he transferred to Purdue till I realized that’d be his like 8 years in school. (Which in these days wouldn’t be shocking.)

That’s right Reef. Toppin had 24 on 10-15 FG plus 7 rebounds in beating in-state rival Louisville last game
A little glitch, ramster. Kentucky beat LSU. Louisville did play but at Syracuse where they lost by a point continuing their dreadful season.
Pretty sure that Louisville/'cuse game was at the Yum! Center. That giant dunking Cardinal is one of the top, coolest center court logos in the game, even if their team is not so good this year... It was a beautiful ending. I have a friend that's a Louisville fan and I like Syracuse (not exactly lighting the world on fire either). Game came down to the final seconds and both teams booted away a chance to seal the deal in the last 8 seconds...so fitting.

Bryant trailed from the outset in their game at Vermont. After a second half UVM run, the margin got as large as 16 points. Jared Grasso picked up a technical at this point in game. The two teams will meet in Smithfield on February 25 and game shapes up to be grudge match.

I was oddly compelled to watch the Bryant game last night just because the chances of a Grasso meltdown were high.

Ever since we played Bryant home last season, I get enjoyment from watching Grasso’s team crash and burn.

Watching this uconn game, I noticed they sit in what is normally the visiting team side. Is this a uconn thing or big east? Pretty smart as they sit on the same side of the court whether away or home.

Some interesting results today:
Quinnipiac routed Iona, 81-58.
UMass Lowell lost at Albany 89-73.

Also, Bryant suffered its second AE loss, this time to UMBC.
Northwestern upset #15 Indiana in Bloomington.

He was a star for St Peters last year, especially in the NCAA Tournament for St Peter’s
What the heck happened?
Dare I say it could be coaching related?

He is 6-27 3P for 22% since the Brown game a month ago
I expected he would be a star at Bryant after St Peters. I would have guessed 15 ppg or thereabouts.

I wouldn’t say he was a star. Think he averaged like 9ppg at St Peter’s. He was a media darling of March Madness given their run and him scoring 20 vs Kentucky. His stock def rose from the tourney. That said between Timberlake, Pride, Antwan and the Lasalle kid they should be rolling teams in that league. Never was nor ever will be a big fan of Greaso.

I just remember the headlines like these where the word star was used. Looks like a lot of people overrated him.

Dayton doesn't have a true PG - play the biggest lineup in America but start 6'6" Mongolian freshmen at the point. His natural position is prob more the 3. Interesting to see how that collides with VCU's defense and their ability to create turnovers. Only way VCU can hang with UD is if they force a ton of turnovers - no one in conference can stop Holmes and UD is big at all 5 positions and should have their way on the glass.

I’d say Malachi Smith is a true PG and will be back starting when he’s healthy.
