Re: 12/4 | Providence College | 5:00PM (ESPNU)
PC starts three 23 year old players (Bynum, Locke, Croswell). Actually Bynum will be 24 in March 2023. Moore who will come off the bench is also 23.
Gonna be real tough for our guys to deal with that much more maturity and phsicality (especially Croswell at 240 pounds).
But remember:FTF FTF FTF FTF

Re: 12/4 | Providence College | 5:00PM (ESPNU)
I wonder if PC is helping them with understanding Medicare and Medicare supplements?
According to coach Cooley, the more mature players and team make up are what he will be focusing on going forward. I predict his next asst coaching hire will be a retirement specialist to work with the mature players because the P6 schools are always on the cutting edge of player enrichment.

Even though I still feel that PC should win this game, one thing I am not sure was mentioned.
We are having a full week to prepare for them and should be fully rested and giving some of our banged-up players more time to heal.
On the other hand, PC is headed down to Texas getting ready to face a pretty good TCU team.
Probably returning tomorrow and giving them a short lead time to prepare for us.
I guess it can work either way, sometimes longer lay-offs don't help.
But in our current case probably works to our advantage.

Jersey, I commend your ability and discipline to remain objective and lucid during PC/Rhody game week.
Now, stop dragging me back to reality. I can’t nurture my visions of a Rhody blowout of PC dancing in my head with you spewing cogent arguments all over this thread.
Don’t make me resort to calling you a PC fan.

For those predicting a Rhody win, are Quinnipiac or Texas State both better than PC?

Sheesh, Ramster, so serious on Rhody/PC game week.
Basque in the ambiance of the rivalry. There’s plenty of time to get down to business later in the week. I will be locked in on game day, coach!

One guy we shouldn't worry about showing up on Saturday is Brayon. Here's Archie on his determination and resilience after the BC game:
“I told him the other day I’m proud of him,” Miller said. “He’s got a lot of fight in him. There are a lot of guys who want to go away and hide when things aren’t off to a good start. He didn’t do that.”
“The coaching staff really worked with me to get me back in the right head space,” Freeman said. “I had a lot of things going on. My head was kind of foggy mentally."

Idc what RhodyVault says, Archie and staff handled Brayon's situation perfectly. His stats FLIPPED after that game he sat out. He's a talented player.PeteRI wrote: ↑1 year ago One guy we shouldn't worry about showing up on Saturday is Brayon. Here's Archie on his determination and resilience after the BC game:

Re: 12/4 | Providence College | 5:00PM (ESPNU)
I've been pondering the question, for whom is URI/PC a rivalry game?
Certainly for long time supporters of athletics at both schools as well as in-state students
who follow their sports' teams it is. For athletic administrators and coaches it is important for raising local money and media attention. But for all the out-of-state players on both teams, I don't see the special relevance.
I see URI, PC and now Bryant as rivals whose players are athletes first and students second. I've omitted Brown because their players are still students first We can occasionally lose to Brown, but PC losing to URI is as bad to them as URI losing to Bryant would be for us. Bryant is nipping at URI's heels as an in-state athletic power. Bryant winning the AEC basketball championship this year (which is possible if not likely) will be damaging to URI's in-state athletic image where it hurts and matters - raising money. The same is true if URI beats PC Saturday. Local NIL money has changed the calculus for Ed Cooley to keep his program on a bigger stage. Did PC and URI intentionally duck Bryant this year for this reason? For PC this year, playing URI may be seen as less of a risk than playing Bryant.

Ticket prices are dropping, especially for the lower arena 200 level seats and after PCs loss last night to TCU
Lowest price in arena is now $73 for 2 tix on StubHub. Likely to drop further from now to Saturday 5pm

URI LEGENDS DON KAULL, JIMMY WRIGHT TO BE REMEMBERED BEFORE THE GAME
- Former Rhode Island players Don Kaull and Jimmy Wright will be remembered with a moment of silence before the opening tip Saturday. Both men passed away within the last week.
- Kaull - a URI Hall of Famer - was a team captain and all-conference selection during his career from 1964-67, helping lead the Rams to the 1966 NCAA championship field.
- Kaull later spent 35 years as the color analyst for men's basketball radio broadcasts, working with both Jim Norman and Steve McDonald.
- Wright was a first team all-conference pick in 1981. From 1977-81, he scored 1,333 and had 773 rebounds.

Not yet, this is all I'm seeing so far

So last year's garbage Ocean State jerseys and Keaney practice looking jerseys. When looking at the white Adidas jerseys they come in navy blue as well and have a bunch of sizes, so it seems like a new offering but it looks like they're using the font from the Hurley era
