Stephens is 5 of 5 from 3 in the first half so far against Wake Forest. Gotta hand it to the kid…he can sure shoot it.

Now 6-9 for 20 points.

I wouldn’t be surprised, Kingston. The P5’s will throw good money at that kind of 3 point shooting. The young man is in line for a pay day.

Re: ‘22 MD PG - Chance Stephens (URI verbal > Loyola Marymount)
Through 11 games, Stephens is still shooting 41.5 percent from deep, but wow, he's pretty heavily into the "specialist" role so far. He's only attempted three non-3 point shots, and committed just seven turnovers. He's also got 0 blocks, 2 steals, 8 assists and 15 rebounds in 233 minutes. I think a lot of schools will attempt to pry him from Loyola Marymount, despite the lack of other contributions so far, mostly because his shooting would so perfectly pair with a penetrating guard.

Hmmm maybe he follows Cox to Maryland?

Haven't seen him play but his numbers and his volume of three pointers remind me of Akeem Richmond. Both had similar numbers their freshman year.

And have to sit out a year!KingstonLane wrote: ↑1 year agoNot surprising, he got put in a tough spot with Cox getting fired and then landed on a backup plan.
Essentially now will have a chance to properly find a home again.
There should be a solid market for a 37% 3pt shooter

Oh right, ffs. I keep thinking the rules changed for 1 time too, but it's only for 2 time transfers. My bad.KingstonLane wrote: ↑1 year agoHe’s a first time transferRhodyRams916 wrote: ↑1 year agoAnd have to sit out a year!KingstonLane wrote: ↑1 year ago

He is way over his head. What a time for Cox to try and use his connections on a kid that will be likely looking to transfer again when he sees very limited playing time. Maryland fans will not be pumped on this one

People said the same thing about Jacob Toppin… And there will always be minutes for an elite shooter in todays game.

JT showed a lot of promise, didn’t follow this kid during the year but he had one good game and that’s it, didn’t impact the game as much as a player like JTDevRam wrote: ↑1 year agoPeople said the same thing about Jacob Toppin… And there will always be minutes for an elite shooter in todays game.

Re: ‘22 MD PG - Chance Stephens (URI verbal > Loyola Marymount)
I’m not sure he is an elite shooter. He played in a low level conference. His stats for three point shooting look good, but not much else. Toppin was very talented. He was a tough lossDevRam wrote: ↑1 year agoPeople said the same thing about Jacob Toppin… And there will always be minutes for an elite shooter in todays game.

Re: ‘22 MD PG - Chance Stephens (URI verbal ---> Loyola Marymount ---> Maryland)
This is my kind of optimism
I thought Terps was likely and logical destination. Hoyas second.
Coach Miller probably working hard to retain Leggett. He is certainly our best candidate for decent Nil dough too.
Maybe Leggett is waiting to see who signs on with Rhody…

With Jaden House he already has someone way better than Jalen Carey with him in the backcourt.

If he’s giving Archie a chance, a quality point guard is a must !PeterRamTime wrote: ↑1 year agoWith Jaden House he already has someone way better than Jalen Carey with him in the backcourt.
