Re: Boston College
Brutal.
I watched some of it. Maine had some nice players and they kept making big plays and shots towards the end of the game when BC made a run.
The Mal bro’s are still playing college ball. Aren’t they like 30 by now?

Re: Boston College
There is a pregame brunch offered by the Alum Association for our BC game, game time is noon. Not sure if sold out. Fee includes game ticket.

Re: Boston College
BC and PC have really been on two different trajectories as a result of conference realignment. PC was a bottom feeder for years in the old Big East but between Cooley and the NBE, Providence has been resurrected. Meanwhile, BC joins the ACC which is great and all (yay football money) but they have become a bottom feeder in that conference as a result. A string of really poor hires hasn't helped either.

At BC basketball is the #3 sport at best. At PC, it is the reason the school still exists.

Maine was obviously riding high after their big win over Maine Fort Kent.

Given we have already lost to Qunnipiac and Texas State at home, I am not going to throw shade at BC. We may be even more pathetic this season.

Re: Boston College
The poor hires are the reason they've been bad. If they hire the right coaches they can compete in the middle to top half of the conferenceSTC wrote: ↑1 year ago BC and PC have really been on two different trajectories as a result of conference realignment. Re: Boston College
I really wanted to make a plan to go to this game. My brother lives 15mins from Conte Forum. Unfortunately, I have an endoscopy at 7am the next morning. I’m too overwhelmed going but was really wishing it could happen. C’est la vie.

Re: Boston College
BC smoked George Mason earlier this week. I have no idea how. BC is currently down 35-19 to Tarleton at the half.

Re: Boston College
Yikes! Tarleton? Who the heck is that?
Never heard of Tarleton, Smarty, so I looked up the school. Tarleton State U is located in Stephenville, TX and is a public university, is the founding institution of the TX A&M system and has approx 14k undergrads.
KB is a great catalyst for learning.

Yea, I’m confused why people are so down on BC like we’re that much better than them. They will be favored to beat us next week.

Re: Boston College
In my case, I am just making an observation off of what I have seen with my eyes vs their game with Maine and their results so far this season. And then comparing it to their better teams I watched in the past - which I am inclined to do for assessment purposes.
BC had a strong program during the BE years and Al Skinner years. A good New England cbb program that seems to have lost its way, imho.
No comparison to Rhody. We have our own problems we are working through presently. Whether we are better than them or not this year isn’t relevant to me because neither team appears to be very good this season - at least so far. That doesn’t mean I don’t care if we beat them. I am simply more concerned with Rhody getting better as the season goes along.

Re: Boston College
Tarleton is also coached by noted great guy Billy Gillespie, after his fall from grace at Texas Tech, and then after that, recruiting violations at a junior college. It's D-II, but they did make 14 NCAA tournament appearances from 2002 through 2020, at which point they joined the WAC. They're in Texas, so they're going to be an attractive destination for recruits and transfers, so it's not really surprising that they're making an impact in D-I almost immediately.

To be clear - R72 hasn't been banned. The alternate account for DC has been banned.
ETA - Whoops, meant to post this in the BC game thread, but got my tabs confused! Oh well. I'll keep it here.
