I watched this kid play against WeR1 (Wahab’s ream). Carroll was there watching. Probably what led to offer. He was the best player for Rytes Warriors. Impressive for a ‘20 playing on a 17U team. Great ballhandler and distributor. A true PG.

Ty was in Philly today. Guessing he watched Wilson. 2020 focus is on PG.

Re: ‘20 PA PG - Isaiah Wilson (offer)
Reminds me of the song Misty Mountain Hop by the transcendental Led Zeppelin
"And asked us said please, hey, would we care
To all get in line
Get in line
Well you know, they asked us to stay for tea
And have some fun
Oh, oh, oh, he said that his friends
Would all drop by, ooh"
Ramblings from an old dude....sorry....Lather, rinse, repeat....

Seems like if URI wants him they'd be able to close the deal. Size and fearlessness remind of me Fatts, for good or bad.

How does Wilson stack up against Wood and Diarra? Is there one guy DC would be leaning towards? Don’t see any rankings for Wilson.

It kind of feels like Diarra is going to be the best of the bunch despite overall rankings. Diarra looks to be coming on big time. Hopefully Woods is better offensively than it seems.DC_Rams wrote: ↑5 years agoPG Priority isSandorClegane wrote: ↑5 years ago How does Wilson stack up against Wood and Diarra? Diarra
Fyi, it’s Wood (no “s”). The priority has to factor in the level of interest from the recruit. Of the three, Diarra definitely has the lowest level of interest in URI.
Thr local DMV KBers prefer Wilson over Wood. I respect that.
My gut is Wood because he is 6’5” and Wilson is 5’11 (like Fatts is 5’11”) and because the experts have Wood highly rated and don’t have Wilson rated. I messaged with one of the recruiting experts today. He said that Wood is underrated.

Which makes no sense at all. Everyone has said he is ranked too high and isn’t as good as his ratings. Just goes to prove no one has a clue what is going to happen as was shown last year with the recruitment of Bishop, Walker and McLeod.reckless jake wrote: ↑5 years agoHe said that Wood is underrated?Rhody83 wrote: ↑5 years ago

Those threads, like any of the long recruiting ones on this board, are a treat to go back and read. Re: ‘20 PA PG - Isaiah Wilson (offer)
We have some nice weapons coming through the '18 and '19 class. We don't necessarily need a point who can score all the time and have to be a focal point on offense. What we need is a floor general, someone who makes good decisions, has good vision and can defend. I loved Virginia's PG Clark, makes good decisions and defends really well, but more importantly knew his role because of all the talent VA had and never tried to force offense. Ideally someone who won't demand a lot of playing time their freshman year with fatts and sheppard still here, but could take the reigns by his sophomore year, leading point on a team with a talented Senior and Junior class. It will be interesting to see how the search develops, but if we can find the right kid with the last two recruiting classes and the potential of a big and another wing/CG in '20 this team is going to be tough for years to come.

If “everyone said he is ranked too high” that would include the experts who do the rankings. In that case, his ranking would’ve come downRamStock wrote: ↑5 years agoWhich makes no sense at all. If he is underrated, where does that put him, 5*? 4* but higher ranked, like top 75? Where does this guy think he should be ranked?

The overrated comment surprised me as well. I didn’t get more details on that. I think some evaluators believe in the right situation he will show more of his talent.Billyboy78 wrote: ↑5 years ago If he is underrated, where does that put him, 5*? 4* but higher ranked, like top 75? For what it's worth, his Rival's ranking has come down over the past 12 months.
In June of 2018, Elijah was ranked number 58 in his class. His ranking slipped to 66 in September, and slipped further to 77 in December 2018.
In Rival's most recent rankings, Elijah fell 28 spots to 105 in the 2020 class.
Of course, this assumes that rankings are even accurate to begin with.

Yep, he's a 4-star prospect, ranked #105 in Rival's latest 2020 rankings. Go Rhody!

Rhody on Isaiah’s list of 5 schools hardest on him right now. Will plan visits for Sept.
“I’d say the schools on me hardest right now is Georgetown, UMass, Rhode island, DePaul, and St.Peters,” Wilson told Stockrisers.
“After Peach Jam, my mom and I, will sit down and make some set dates of visits for September because right now we don’t have any set.”
Commitment timeline: Late-October

I agree. He looks like a late bloomer that will be an absolute steal. It doesn’t look like we will be able to say the same for Wood. He seems like a guy going in the complete opposite direction. I’m not at all excited for him. We need to get someone soon that can help when the juniors and seniors leave

I’m so confused why would he transfer, Gilyard, Golden, Cayo & Sherod are leaving next year, which leaves a ton of minutes for him to possibly get next year, unless there’s something else

Yeah he was probably going to start this coming season. A perfect example of "transferring doesn't always happen for basketball reasons" even though that's the lens fans view it from. Plenty of other factors at play.

Re: ‘20 PA PG - Isaiah Wilson (offer)
Great point, Smarty. As a fan, we don’t always get the whole story. When I first saw it I thought, why leave now with the run they just had and the PT opening up for next year with graduations? I hope it works out for him and Richmond bounces back. It looks like they will have a lot of holes to fill.
