I don’t know how some have Xavier last four in. Dayton and others are more deserving than X. I know it’s not a rule bt 8-11 in conference should disqualify you.

Yale grabs the Ivy League automatic bid by beating Princeton, 66-64. The last seconds of this game shows the power behind guards that can hit 3-pointers especially under pressure. Yale put in two free throws with 48 seconds left to give the Bulldogs a nine-point lead, 64-55. Princeton was able to put in thee consecutive threes and with Yale miscues closeed the gap to 66-64 with 14 seconds left and with ball possession they had a chance to tie or win the game.

Just win it looked like Davidson would start to pull away Richmond scores 7 straight to tie it at 49.

They are calling some ticky tack fouls on Richmond now. Calls that aren’t going both ways.

Ramster said I couldn't read, but I did read him say the A10's only chance at a bid is the AQ many times... I told him Davidson could still receive an at-large bid. We will find out who was right tonight!

Looks like Mooney is safe.
We won't be competing with Richmond for a HC candidate.
The A10 won't be a 1 bid conference this season.

Re: Week #12 Games of Interest / Rest of 2022 Season
The A-10 will once again be a multi bid league by the skin of its teeth. It will likely have the unwanted distinction of having the most teams in the NIT field for the 2nd consecutive year (it could be 4 out of 32 both seasons).
The A-10 averaged three NCAA bids over a span of some 25 years (roughly 1991-2018). It is unfortunately now trending at a maximum of 2 participants each year as has been the case the last three tournaments. It is worth noting that the selection process use of the NET ranking system covers this same period as the NET was introduced for the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
History of A-10 Tournament bids assuming Davidson will get an at large invite:

Amazing that we had richmond pinned about 50 miles south of dc and they could see their campus from the buses…
Then they come back and beat the 3,2 and today the 1 seed.
Good for them

This is the major problem. We, as a society have become so reliant on metrics and everything stats. It's always been a cover for the powers on committee that usually have minimal basketball knowledge and need something to favor p6 schools and therefore money.. As well as the average fan , who cannot make an argument without throwing out stats, because they simply don't understand anything else. . While stats are useful and great at times, especially in the business world, sports offer human element & component and many stats at this point have become overblown and over utilized. An eye test is obviously not 100% accurate nor do stats paint an entire picture

But when Dan Gavitt went to Google to develop the NCAA’s own rating system, separate from Sagarin, BPI, Ken Pom, RPI and others that exactly what he is doing - Developing statistics. Wolf guarding the hen house. To top that off Dan Gavitt will not even provide the formulas on how the NET is generated.

Re: Week #12 Games of Interest / Rest of 2022 Season
I mean, this would be relevant... except that picking teams by eye over the years have been way worse. Ultimately, the biggest arguments each year are about teams outside of the Top 25, essentially, teams 30 to 45. It's rare that a team couldn't have done more during the season to just make the tournament. The constant refrain this year was that the A-10 was down, and that we'd be lucky to get more than one team in, and as Rhody15 pointed out, there's a bunch of mid-majors that are going to get great seeds this year. Davidson is 38 in NET and 41 in KenPom, so they're pretty much right on the bubble.giovanni wrote: ↑2 years ago

In my opinion no way should Xavier get a bid, although they probably will.
I always felt that any team with a losing conference record should not qualify for an at-large bid to the NCAAT.
The P6 schools already have a big enough advantage.

Richmond/Davidson was a great game. I found myself mesmerized by Gilyard. Even when Davidson had the ball i was looking to see where Gilyard was because i was sure he was going to take it away no matter who had it.

Completely agree with this take. I hate when a 17-14 (8-10) P5 school steals a bid from a mid major with like 23+ wins.
Like this year I’d rather see a bubble team like 25-8 Wyoming over mediocre Michigan, Xavier, etc.

Yes you're correct, I'm not saying eye test is the way to go. That's obviously very subjective and far from correct which is why that changed years ago.But I also do not believe stats always tell an entire story either. There is no way to select the perfect 68 teams, by any manner. There will always be groups of people that disagree and reasons to do so. . While a statistical measure may be or is better than what we view, that is also far from perfect. It will always be an imperfect system. The guidelines of stats may be better, but I also feel we've become over-reliant as statistics to be the end all.

They finish 9-11 B10', IMO no at large bid.
They play 10 of 11 OOC games in Indiana including:
Northern Ill, Eastern Mich, Louisiana, St. John's, Jackson State, Marshall, Merrimack, Notre Dame, Northern Ky, UNC Ashville.
They lose on the road at Syracue.
