Actually, Becker should be on the short list if he has interest, he can flat out coach.

Chris Mack. A tremendous coach who left unceremoniously at Louisville and has a black mark on his resume. Perhaps needs to rebuild or boost his career, not that he would need it financially. But if he wants to coach again right away, why not make a call. Sorry to suggest what is more than likely an unrealistic name to the holier than now crowd. Mack over Miller if I want to fantasize

Let this thread be a safe space for those of us who have deluded ourselves into getting excited about maybe getting Archie. Take the Becker and Skerry talk back to the coaching carousel or head coach speculation threads. Only positive Archie vibes here, please.

Bonus points if someone spots Archie at TF Green, gassing up his car in West Kingston, or out at MOB.

Travis Steele may also be in jeopardy; his contract ends in 2024.
Many picked Xavier to finish in the top 3 BE and their conference record will be 8-11.
In 5 years he hasn't had a winning BE record.
Would Sean Miller return there?

Don't like Wojo at all . Did a poor job at Marquette and lost control of his players . Remind you of anyone ? How about Bobby Hurley ? He at least has been an excellent recruiter . He did do wonders with Buffalo , but he is struggling in Arizona State and is supposedly gone even though he brought in young talent there.

Re: The Archie Miller Conspiracy Thread.
I am not interested in instapot cred or immediate relevance on the college hoops landscape because of our next hire. The on the court program needs a total overhaul and build up, player by player, game by game to a shared foreseeable future. Whether that route is the transfer portal, recruits staying committed, current roster players staying, each will have to buy into a vision of what Rhody basketball can be and most importantly knowing they contributed to that vision becoming reality. I think we have seen and experienced, in the last few years a group of individuals that reflected more of a going into business for themselves attitude and an absent coaching leadership to teach and make the obvious corrective actions.

Re: The Archie Miller Conspiracy Thread.
I see nothing tying Archie to any other job at the moment on Twitter. Just people saying “he’d be a good candidate there, etc.
In fact, the only substantiated, specific “whispers” written by a legitimate national basketball writer about Archie were the borzello ones that kicked off this adventure.
Most everyone is reading the tea leaves this time of year and guessing. Trying to apply logic and base anything about an NCAA coaching carousel on anything that’s “likely” to happen is stupid.
Have some fun.
And not for nothing - conspiracy theory or not, at least this claim is based on SOMETHING significantly more substantial than the negative nancies who just say “won’t happen” and go on about their day.
So while everyone here, at the Archie Miller Fanclub and beyond, is grasping at straws - we will continue to believe until there’s a press conference involving Thorr Bjorn and our new head coach.

If Archie is a viable candidate (for us) at some point Umass will talk to him. If there is no rumor of that then it would be a flag IMO. We are likely both circling around the same candidate list.

Re: The Archie Miller Conspiracy Thread.
What I want to hear [and soon] is that URI [Thorr] is interviewing Archie for the HC job.
That means 2 things:
That he's interested, and
Tom Ryan et all want him, and they are willing to do what it takes to bring him here.
That's not just paying a larger salary for him and his staff, but FINALLY committing to long overdue program enhancements that will compete with Dayton and VCU for the top of the league on a consistent basis.
And then Thorr's stated goals for this program, can finally be realized.

Did this get posted already? I can't remember. Archie mentioned for the UMass opening along with all the same other names we keep hearing. Now hear me out real quick before you revoke my Archie conspiracy cult membership. My thought on posting this is that if Archie is seriously in the mix for a place like UMass, then maybe its not so crazy that he could be in the mix here to. Because it's kind of shocking to me that he'd even be mentioned with UMass at all.

The rumors might just have legs.....
Talk about the excitement this would bring.....
It would be like this program rising from the dead.
But if UMass is willing and able to offer Archie 1.8 million a year, then we will have to at least match that offer, among other things.
