Dayton lost to VCU. A win over Fordham and the women are in 1st place in the A10.

I'm not seeing any kind of substitution pattern here. Best players are playing until they need a quick blow. What a concept!

Re: I'm jumping on the bandwagon!
I have watched some top 25 women's basketball this year and we really are right up there with some of those teams.
Chanell could probably play anywhere.
We have good size and they can shoot.
Most importantly we really execute well.
Just looked at Fordhams schedule and only No.6 Baylor has beaten them worse than we did. Dayton only beat them by four and they won at VCU by six....we are clearly playing at a high level.

Just back from my first women’s game, and they can play! That half court shot brought the house down! Hope it makes national highlights! Looking forward to Dayton!

I hope the players on the men's team were in attendance because over the years I have always seen the women's players at men's games.

Players from the men's team are always at the WBB games. Not all of them but I always see several. And that has been for many years, not just this year.

1252 attendance is the largest crowd I can ever remember at a WBB Game
URI WBB now had the longest current winning streak in the Nation. Try that on for size!

The boys usually sit in the end zone section closest to the URI WBB bench. 100 level. For all the WBB games.

Re: I'm jumping on the bandwagon!
Some in the student section but not many. The 100 level seats were filled up quite well especially 103, 104, 105 and 106.
The family event held in the Mackal Forum was great. That family event was very well attended and many of those people came to the game - even with the snow. Genius to have that event Sunday morning prior to a 1pm important WBB Game like Fordham represented.
Nice touch to have the 3 foot long balloons to distribute in the crowed during the game. The kids likes those. Except for some of them popping during the game - imagine that.
When they say 1252 for a WBB Game it is likely correct because there are not many season ticket holders, and for those who are season ticket holders they normally show. Not like MBB when the announced attendance might be 4800 and there are actually 2000 or less in the building.
The fans in attendance were happy, had a lot of fun. The Ram Band and Cheerleaders were great. Crowd seemed to feed off it's own energy and energy provided by the game itself. No need to pump up the crowd.
Looking forward to Wednesday 6pm vs Dayton.
Today was a huge win. Beating Fordham was critically important. They are a good team and very well coached. We had a very good game today.

I hope URI reaches out to all high schools and provides an incentive for the girls basketball players to go to the game.ramster wrote: ↑2 years agoSome in the student section but not many. The 100 level seats were filled up quite well especially 103, 104, 105 and 106.

Re: I'm jumping on the bandwagon!
The event at Mackal was actually rescheduled from the weekend of the blizzard- it was not supposed to happen today- Free tix for all kids, $5 for parents. I will say someone dropped the ball by not announcing to the crowd that the players were signing autographs after the game. The few that knew about it stayed- they could have easily had a 100+ more kids if it was announced.ramster wrote: ↑2 years agoSome in the student section but not many. This generation has a big initiative on "safe spaces". If one person feels triggered, everyone else will need to adhere.NYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑2 years agoDrop the _____ and we'll be there..
I called the box office and asked, since the governor has dropped the mandate, will masks still be required at the Ry? The young lady had to go check with someone...and came back and said "the Ryan Center follows university policy, so still required."
Who exactly makes that call? How does that make any sense?
