I really think this lineup down the stretch of Sheppard, Leggett, Martin, Walker and Makhel is our best option. I hope we see more of it.

A Win here would absolutely kill the a-10’s chances of being a 2 bid league. Cost us a share of money. And make a losing season harder to attain and get a coaching change.

Blueman you are correct. Davidson will blow any hope of an at large and the A10 will be a 1 bid league.

Credit where its due, that's a nice win. One game doesn't change everything, but they did a lot of things well. We'll see where it goes from here.

Good win. Gotta give credit when credit is due. The key was outshooting them. It really helps when you hit your FTs. I’m glad to say I was wrong.

We always had the talent, it has been TO’s, FTs and just general bad coaching that has held them back.

Amazing FTs down the stretch. Davidson was really uncomfortable out there. Very good win, even though I'm feeling very conflicted.

Twins played really well. Walker was sound and Sheppard was outstanding. Looks like he is regaining his confidence. We hit Foul shots and took care of the ball. Happy for those young men! Dinner will taste better tonight for all!

I mean in the grand scheme of things this is a Q2 win at best. It could turn into a Q3 win with the slide Davidson will get losing to us.

It is cox’s “best” with his own guys. Which isn’t saying much.

But unless this spurns a miracle turnaround that ends in an A10 tournament win, this hurt the program long term. It’s closer to .500 by the end of the year and potentially could wind up being the reason we don’t make a coaching change and potentially extending cox.

Those two stats made the difference. Also while URI lost the turnover battle 13-4, it had less than many other games.

A win today still means little in the grand scheme of things. Far too many games have been lost due to poor and inconsistent play this season. Today's game is just a reminder of how things could be if the team played up to its potential more frequently. Sadly, it rarely ever puts forth an effort like today.

One game doesn't change anything in the big scheme of things.

You could say we were due to make our FT's.

4 or 5 duds and then a good game doesn't scream consistency imo.

Thing is, there is some talent here, but it's not being realized.

If we could shoot FT's well, we would be several games better and then Cox might save his job in spite of his poor coaching.

Watched the SH-Villanova game today, Villanova shoots 83% at the FT line, leads the country.

But today was fake gold....unless we all of a sudden play like this the rest of the way, I don't see Cox here next season.

If we beat Dayton Monday, then I'll be a little concerned about purgatory like Blue Man just said.

Cox did make better substitutions late in this game though. Been reading this board I guess.

Remember when Baron beat St Joes when they were 11-2 in the conference and then we lost to GW by 30? We’ve seen wins like this before. We match up well with Davidson.

If anything, I think a win like this highlights the coaching failure on the whole. This team is not perfectly constructed by any stretch, but it isn’t totally devoid of ability or potential. A game like this is a demonstration of that fact. But despite that potential, this year’s team and the program as a whole are in nowheresville. A more capable coach would have this roster in a position where they were at least still playing for something other than avoiding a game on the first day of the conference tournament.

Davidson is a paper tiger. I truly don't think they're an NCAA team. Today begins their fall back to earth.

That said, it's a nice win. Doesn't change much unless URI plays that way the rest of the season. I'm not confident... still think they go back to the Rhody we've seen most of the season beginning on Monday. One game sample sizes - good or bad - are never reliable.

I called this win on the EARLY LINE . If they have actually fixed the ft shooting this team could be ready to roll . If not it won't mean anything .
Maybe it will give them some confidence which has been severely lacking since the loss to GW . if they can get on a roll they could be dangerous
in DC. I have to say I don't like any of the negativity on this board after a fantastic effort and win . Section 104 this was in no way a terrible result for Rhode Island or the Atlantic 10 .Credit the whole URI team for a great effort . We have no idea what this game will mean for URI , but if it means anything it is a positive . I can't believe you are a true fan and were rooting against these players who deserve credit for not giving up on the season as you have. I enjoyed this game immensely dispite some terribly one sided officiating which was driving me crazy.

It already means nothing. What does it mean, even today? This game isn’t a “resume builder” - we aren’t even submitting a resume. The only thing it is is a reminder that the roster isn’t actually as bad as the record.

The real tragedy of having a season like this - a mediocre, middling season on the road to nowhere - is precisely that it makes all the games meaningless. Every game means nothing now, win or lose. That’s the whole point.

Sorry Luke, but this game was HORRIBLE for the A10.
