And the end it’s another example of playing down, or maybe up, to the competition. Still can’t close. ABC.

Too be fair, good coaches do this too. (In Cox's case the superlatives here are going to be exactly the same win or lose.)

How many charging fouls has Leggett got tonight. He has regressed a lot this year and will not take a mid range jump shot.

I mean are you even watching? The first 3 I don’t even think there was a defensive player in the camera shot. If he can’t make that he shouldn’t be playing college basketballRhody15 wrote: ↑2 years agoKingstonLane wrote: ↑2 years agoMy point has nothing to do with Sheppard.
Would love nothing more than Thomas having a great career here. But we sound like absolute losers getting hyped up about a player on our team scoring 9 points against Fordham. While losing to them no less
Everyone said the last few days he couldn’t shoot.
He hit three 3s tonight.
What could he have possibly done more tonight (shooting wise) to please people?
Everyone here so quick to forget Leggett as a freshmen scored 18 against Dayton, 16 against VCU, 12 against Seton Hall. Thomas scored 9 points against Fordham. Let’s pump the damn brakes people

I’m all for tempering expectations but a freshman hitting clutch shots like that is a positive. When Gill hit the game winner against Fordham we’re we losers for getting excited?KingstonLane wrote: ↑2 years agoMy point has nothing to do with Sheppard.Rhody15 wrote: ↑2 years agoBut if Sheppard is dogshit against Fordham, why should he play against better competition?KingstonLane wrote: ↑2 years ago

I’m not going to crown Thomas our savior because he scored 9 points against the team in our conference that has a thread on this board about getting relegated out of our conference.

a perfect example of how Cox does not use El Amin's capabilities. He is their best shooter, was an excellent offensive player at Ball State and no plays run for him, zero.
anyone see a simple curl for him? Anyone see anything fun for him..... Have no idea why Cox wanted him if he does not use him.
How many minutes tonight?

Thomas had an almost good game. All we had was performance to date as info…let’s see if he can continue the ok play…this performance is nothing to write home about we have had hundreds of better games by true freshman before.

Exactly, thank you. Thomas had his personal best game of the season. It also came against the worst team on our schedule. These can both be true but are important context.
Feel like I’m turning into Blue Man here but this board celebrating that over being pissed off over this game as a whole just didn’t sit right with me

Re: 2/2 | Fordham | 7:00PM (ESPN+)
I didn't watch - I did keep my eye on the score and even when I noticed it was tied at 48 and at 51, I still had no faith we'd pull it off. If it were us that blew the 17 point lead, we'd definitely lose, but we can't come back from a big deficit and win. Honestly, I'm numb. Not shocked, not even upset any more. It's almost comical. I can't help but laugh or I'll drive myself crazy!
Bleed Keaney Blue!

“Really proud of the way our guys fought tonight. Showed real character late in the second half. Not the result we wanted, but saw things we will try to improve upon. All the credit to - *looks at schedule* - Fordham. They have a strong well coached team.” - Coach Cox (probably)

Re: 2/2 | Fordham | 7:00PM (ESPN+)
After ragging on the need for Thomas to improve his shooting for the week, it's good to see him hit 3 open shots. Kind of like KingstonLane though, it's not like I'm going to pretend that we suddenly have the solution to our point guard woes - he had three turnovers, only two assists, and only took four shots without getting to the FT line. It would be nice to see him combine this line with the previous game's line, but this is a step in the right direction. On a night that Leggett and Sheppard combined to shoot 2-for-14, I don't know why Thomas wasn't finishing the game out.

Because he turned the ball over with 2 mins left. Question is why Leggett goes in for him, Leggett either is no good or is in a really bad slump.SGreenwell wrote: ↑2 years ago After ragging on the need for Thomas to improve his shooting for the week, it's good to see him hit 3 open shots.
