Minneapolis is a cool city, great music vibe, pro sports, etc. But it is dam cold, though not sure RI connotes warm weather to anyone either.
Before you slam Lubbuck you should investigate their pool of coeds. In that case they likely have RI beat.

I'm not sure if you meant to link to that picture (which I think is a reference to a video game) or the next one....the next one is a pretty amazing clay carving of Stewie Griffin from Family Guy which clearly states he wants to come to Ri....we hope.

That isn't a reference to a video game. It is a referemce to Texas Tech. That "guns up" thing is their thing, like "hook 'em horns" or "roll tide."15 Year Lurker wrote:I'm not sure if you meant to link to that picture (which I think is a reference to a video game) or the next one....the next one is a pretty amazing clay carving of Stewie Griffin from Family Guy which clearly states he wants to come to Ri....we hope.

He hasn't cancelled his other visits, so let Dan have his shot at this kid. He could have signed an LOI when he was at TT but he didn't. I wouldn't say he's totally committed to them just yet.

Sounds of silence on Foster, and everyone else, too..
If he does come here, I hope the weather is better
than this.
Six days until LOI period ends.

He's seen far worse weather in Chicago than he'll ever see here (unless we have a hurricane). I still think he's going with Tubby.

This has been a very quite signing period. I keep expecting something unexpected to happen (if that makes sense).

Re: '13 Chicago PF - Alex Foster
Well Rod, it sure looks like Dan isn't going to sign anybody, just for the sake of signing anybody.
Since it's beginning to look like he's striking out on the specific guys he wants, maybe it's better to just wait and fill the open spots next season.
Maybe there will be a last minute surprise, or maybe not. Like has been said, maybe academics has been the fly in the ointment this recruiting period.

Re: '13 Chicago PF - Alex Foster
How do you know he's not signing anyone?
Not much talk anywhere, but who knew about Oneykaba,
before he showed up on campus?
If he doesn't, it's no gret loss, as the 2014 class is a very good one,
and we'd have 3 scholarships instead of one.
I'd rather see that than bring in someone like Icky Er.

It's the last chance to sign a letter of intent, but a player who hasn't signed can still enroll in the summer.

Re: '13 Chicago PF - Alex Foster
Thinking about it, i assume that the May 15 deadline is so that there is a cutoff for the constant recruitment stuff; once the kid finishes high school, i think he much like a "free agent".
Didn't VCU sign the 4 star Melvin Johnson(St Benedicts) last year in July(although he did decommit from Miami; and didn't we enroll Ifeanyi in Seeptember last year.
I like the idea of Hurley keeping a scholly open for these kinds of unforeseen circumstances.

Re: '13 Chicago PF - Alex Foster
Well, it looks like two scholarships remain open,
plus one for next year.
If we can't land a stud, I'd rather save them for 2014.
Looks like this kid never visited, and likely won't.

Getting the last visit can sometimes be a good thing.

I said that to Kmac, today, and he's pooh poohing it.
Also saying we don't want Foster.
Must be why he's here, right?

Getting the last shot, is almost always what a good salesman wants. If Foster is here for the 48 hours that is permitted, it means that Hurley has the last shot, on the last day.Iggy1979 wrote:Getting the last visit can sometimes be a good thing.

The one downside to the timing of this visit is that the team all went home just a few days ago.
