The offense needs to improve, a lot.
I still think they have a chance to beat Villanova.

Beat Villanova and we can forget about the loss to Towson.
We weren't good enough to go undefeated and I think everybody knew that.
The games against UNH and Maine will be must wins in order to make the playoffs.

That may be true but Towson was a game you had to have and it was ugly. That game was reminiscent of past bad Rhody losses. Mental mistakes by the players and more questionable coaching decisions. Beating Nova is a tall order to say the least, they’re a legit top 5 team and we’re without Kevin Brown who torched them in the spring. If we coach and play like we did Saturday, we’ll be lucky to salvage a winning season.rambone 78 wrote: ↑2 years ago Beat Villanova and we can forget about the loss to Towson.

Feels like the wind is out of our sails and we're going to get slaughtered. I hope I'm wrong.
Much like the Red Sox, maybe this just isn't a team of front runners and we need our backs against the wall to perform.

If you say you’re a Rhody fan, I know you are my brother. For you have suffered as I have suffered.

Certainly not the same feel or energy from the board this week. I just hope that the team uses last week as a wakeup call...the offense has been sputtering and we will need to be hitting on all cylinders tomorrow.

Ugly start. Personal fouls, fumbles.
24-0. Nova doing whatever they want.
Desperately need a win next week vs. Maine

They just aren’t that good. They didn’t beat anyone that great this year and we’re lucky not to have another loss. They are who they are. Probably end up with 4 loses and no playoffs. Good year for them overall

How can the offense be so inept? Too conservative play calling is a great start but WTF. Where is the running back transfer from Purdue?

So true…epic failures the last 2 games. Our OC is terrible and hill needs to be benched. Antrum was the only bright spot but didn’t play until we were down 21. Flemings only hope is to keep recruiting better players that will out play is poor coaching. Looks like we’ll be lucky to finish 6-5.

By now it seems that opponents have figured out our offense.
Need to make adjustments to counter.....can Fleming do that is the question.

I've never seen a team start 5-0 like we did and then suddenly look completely inept.

We have no offense and the defense is porous. Outscored 71-7 in the last two games.

Season ticket holder since 1975. I’ve seen a number
Of these games. Interesting to hear the post game. Don’t tell me we have to get down to business on Monday. Don’t tell me we weren’t ready to play. Who is responsible for the game plan? Who is responsible for adjusting when needed? You want me to
Continue to support the program? Show me something next Saturday. Btw, coach take full responsibility. I wonder what means of transportation this team deserves to get home. Yes,
I’m pissed, but so should every fan.

Well said! I’m pissed too. “Ranked” teams don’t lose consecutive games like this. The coaching/play calling isn’t going to get any better so I don’t know how this gets fixed.neil wrote: ↑2 years ago Season ticket holder since 1975. I’ve seen a number

This is how I have felt the whole season, it was a paper tiger 5-0. 5-6 is a legit possibility.

Steve and Terry talking about potential playoff opponents?
WTF!!!
People saying 7 wins is a 50-50 shot?
The conference doesn’t have SIX FREAKING AUTO BIDS!!!
YOU HAVE TO BE BETTER THAN 4-4!
6-2 needs to be the goal!
Win this week, then think about the next one.
They need to figure this out, but it’s not too late.
Just beat Maine!!!

The 2001 squad started the year 7-0 and was ranked 4th in the country. They then lost 28-0 at Richmond who was 3-6/3-8 that season, lost 26-14 on Family Day against Maine (flip this one game and URI probably would have been the conference champion based on tiebreakers) in a game I don't remember feeling that close, lost at UMass (3-6/3-8) 24-7 in just an absolutely ugly performance, then squeaked by a 4-5/5-6 Northeastern team 27-26PeterRamTime wrote: ↑2 years ago I've never seen a team start 5-0 like we did and then suddenly look completely inept.

Re: GM 7 Football @ Villanova 3:30pm Saturday Oct 23 FloFootball.com
Sorry, but 7 wins is absolutely a 50-50 shot for CAA teams since the playoffs expanded in 2013. If you want to say that this URI team wouldn't deserve a playoff spot at 7 wins? That's fine, I'd actually probably agree with you, and would guess that if we got in with 7 wins it would be more about the selection committee giving their colleague on the committee a favor than anyone we've won against, but facts are factsrhodyrudder wrote: ↑2 years ago Steve and Terry talking about potential playoff opponents?

Yeah but we can hardly produce 50 passing yards a game now lolRhowdyRam02 wrote: ↑2 years agoThe 2001 squad started the year 7-0 and was ranked 4th in the country.
