Terrible 4th &1 call, should’ve gone for it. Flem keeps making mind-numbing in-game decisions. Talent won the day in the end.

Agree about the 4th and one call. There was no way that SB would kick a field goal to win. Their place kicker missed an extra point and line drived another. No turnovers! Bring on the hens. BTW, is there any info on when was the last time we beat a top ten team?

I think mind numbing may be a bit of a stretch, no? I completely understand the reasoning. You have our all time leading in points kicking from a distance he has the leg to hit it from. The other team is primarily a ball control running offense with a weak kicker, and would need to get it in the red zone to even have a chance of tying the game. Not only that, but we ended up getting the ball back in decent field position.

Re: GM 4 Football vs Stony Brook 12pm Saturday Oct 2 FloFootball.com Homecoming
The offense has become much more dynamic with the emergence of Warren. He was running open in the middle of the field all game. Good to get a win over a decent team when Hill was really off. I agree that we played it tight in both of those drives that resulted in missed FGs. Carrick is good but he’s not Vinatieri. Could have tried to be a bit more aggressive in play calling and win the game in regulation. These are good problems to have btw.

I agree. He hit one from 42 earlier in the game, a 45 yard field goal isn't a gimme, but it's also a kick that is doable. I found our conservative play calling on the last drive once we crossed into Stony Brook territory leaving a 51 yard attempt worse than kicking on 4th and 1 our previous driveBos8 wrote: ↑2 years agoI think mind numbing may be a bit of a stretch, no? Last night we witnessed someone who is in the discussion of the best football coach of all time make a very similar decision with the game on the line. Again, I think you could argue either way on the decision from both Fleming and Belichick, but to call it "mind numbing" makes it seem like you are just searching for something to complain about.

Re: GM 4 Football vs Stony Brook 12pm Saturday Oct 2 FloFootball.com Homecoming
Kasim Hill was named CAA offensive player of the week. Kind of surprised, outside of the TD in OT he wasn't super accurate, but he did go 21 of 37 for 226 yards and a TD and ran 15 times for 79 yards and a TD, so I guess taking passing and running into account it makes sense

What a win. It's so amazing to see this team at 4-0. Each game gets bigger. Next week we get a legit, Top 10 ranked opponent. Let's keep it rolling!

I agree, I was a bit surprised TBH. But looking at the article, he was very clutch in the 4th and OT, going 10-13 for 134 in the 4th quarter and OT. Add in his big run, and he was definitely at his best when the game was on the line.RhowdyRam02 wrote: ↑2 years ago Kasim Hill was named CAA offensive player of the week. Did you not see the last 2 minutes of the game? We played for a field goal…a 51 yard field goal. The game should’ve been won in regulation, similar to the game vs Villanova in the spring…yes we won both. We have an all conference receiver and one of the best FCS tight ends in the country. Why settle for a field goal? Its mind-numbing because it’s a pattern. We won the game and I’m as happy as anyone. On to Delaware!Bos8 wrote: ↑2 years agoRhowdyRam02 wrote: ↑2 years agoI agree.
