Re: Jordan Hare
I wouldn't give up on Jordan just yet. Given all the hype, I too was a little disappointed in his play this yr. I believe he was a pre-season all-rookie selection but that means nothing if you're not an end of season all-rookie selection. But I still go back to Michael Anderson. He was horrible his 1st 2 yrs. should have been red-shirted his freshman yr but we need a big man so bad they had to play him. He turned out to be quite a serviceable big man & made some money in Europe afterward. Jordan is athletically much superior to Mike. Mike has the body tho & was tough to move out of the middle. Different styles but I still think Jordan is ahead at this stage of the game. With good coaching and more important, desire to improve, Jordan still has the potential to make his mark over the next 3 yrs.

Re: Jordan Hare
I don't think there is anyone on this board that doesn't want Jordan to succeed, and I would be surprised if we don't see a big improvement next season. BTW, I don't think last season was a complete loss, he had some nice games and showed that there is talent. He can improve his hands...I remember Damont Collins was a lousy free throw shooter early in his career and he became a reliable clutch free throw shooter later on. In fact, I think he hit some very important late free throws to help us beat a nationally ranked UMass team at the civic center and Purdue in the NCAA tourney. I know not exactly the same issues but it just shows how you can improve your deficiencies with hard work.

Re: Jordan Hare
Rod, what exactly do you define as a 'physical specimen?' Drummond, just because he's 6-10, 270?
Consider the following three players and their freshman year numbers.
Player A -- 5.3 minutes, 1.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, 0.2 blocks
Player B -- 21.7 minutes, 7.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 0.4 blocks
Player C -- 19.6 minutes, 5.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.8 blocks
Player A is Jack Cooley. Player B is Kadeem Batts. Player C is Jordan Hare.
Look at the leaps Cooley and Batts made from sophomore to junior year (Cooley 3.7 to 12.5 points and 3.1 to 8.9 rebounds, Batts 6.2 to 14.8 points and 4.2 to 7.2 rebounds). Would you have taken either one of those guys into URI's program? With additional development under this staff -- which we all know you love, Rod -- the same could happen for Hare. Why are you so quick to dismiss this?

Re: Jordan Hare
Understand, I would love for Jordan to become everything
some here feel he can be.
That would mean an even better URI team, and we'd all be happy.
I sure as hell wouldn't mind being wrong.

There isn't anything that hare can do that Drummond can't. Kid is a genetic freak

Hard to get 270 that far off the floor, Sean. Move along.

Yeah, you're right...Hare is WAY better. So much more athletic. He doesn't start for An 8 win URI team and AD is the rookie of the year.

Re: Jordan Hare
Sean, you can see he can't get off the floor and has no athleticism.
Hare is light years more developed.
Geez, Drummond even gets into the passing lanes and takes it in from midcourt.
Wonder who Wiseman is watching? Can't be Drummond.

Re: Jordan Hare
This from the same Rod who rips Hare for being all flash and no substance, who wants the dunk outlawed, etc. You're a hypocrite and it's not the first time.
I've never said Hare was a lottery pick. But he's also not a guy who you should brizz after one season. To suggest as much -- which you have done -- is idiocy.

You said Hare was "more athletic"; direct quote. Watch the video. Show me Hare doing any of that....
Just admit you had a brain fart and weren't comparing a future NBA star to Jordan Hare.

Sean, why don't you tell us about what a star Vincent Council will be in the NBA? What about Ricky Ledo? Get lost.

Drummond is a certifiable beast, Hare will still be a solid contributor at URI off the bench

Move it along, Sean. Tell us all how the Friars are a top 25 team next year with the patron saint of the West End leaving the school without playing a game.

Apparently you didn't pick up on the sarcasm. Next time ill use an emoticon. So you have zero to back up your joke of an argument. Nicely played.

Re: Jordan Hare
I didn't pick up on anything because I really don't give a f... what you think of me or anything else. Bottom line -- Jordan Hare is a great athlete. He has three years to develop into a basketball player.seanmc94 wrote:Apparently you didn't pick up on the sarcasm. Next time ill use an emoticon. Re: Jordan Hare
No one said he isn't a great athlete; or wouldn't develop. Check the posts, I've preached patience since day 1 with this kid. However, claiming that he is more athletic than Andre Drummond; an NBA rookie phenom; makes you look like a boob.
Childishly attacking PC and Ricky Ledo Bc you have nothing else to bring to the table makes you look like an even bigger BOOB.

I think it's about time we spiked this topic .... Jordan's back. He'll answer all the questions one way or another this season.
