The D line was muuuuch improved against Albany.
O line got killed. Played great against Nova.
Time management was good.

O-Line did have a rough day, some of that was receivers not getting open. Teams are going to start double teaming Frimpong. We need a 3rd receiver to step-up. Gone are the days of dropping back and heaving it up to 2 pros.

Our TE was wide open down the seam multiple times and we just couldn’t make the connection. Hopefully he can become that 3rd option to Lee and Frimpong. Also more dump offs to the RB will help.

Re: GM 3 Football #10 Ranked Delaware 12pm Saturday Mar 27 FloFootball.com
Defense has some depth at Linebacker and Line. Staff does a nice job of rotating prayers. Linebackers are deep and the addition of Stewart (Boston College) and Martin (Bryant), they have given the group that sideline to sideline speed they lacked. Johnson, Fire, Blackett, Arlington make a solid group. Dylan Brown and Westley Neal are loads on the nose. Mack is healthy and is and playing really well. Makszin and Bibeault have been solid with two Rutgers transfers backing them up (Burby and Thomas). The secondary is flying to the ball and improved. Tippett is a leader and our best player on both sides of the ball.
We always had 8 or 9 kids on each side of the ball that could compete and then their was a drop off. We are developing good depth and adding transfers who are making immediate impacts. If our two young tackles on the O-line can develop we are going to be solid the rest of the way.
Next weeks game is going to be a monumental challenge and great for the growth of the program. If we can somehow win that game you are looking at a top ten ranking with 3 games left. Meade would have had 10,000 plus for those games against Maine and New Hampshire. With the practice facility funding in place, Thor should be focusing on upgrading Meade Stadium. Would be great if Ben Navarro would support the program, hell he almost bought the Carolina Panthers. C'mon Mr. Navarro help your alma mater!
Looking forward to Saturday!

Yeah with a $3B net worth, Benny could fund a new grandstand/press box with his pocket change. There’s been crews working on the bleachers at Meade the last few weeks. At this point, its like putting lipstick on a pig. We could’ve used some of that $50M+ the state ok’d for the performing arts building.

Another big win! Great defense, reminded me of a couple of years ago we played Harvard on the road. Defense made every play in the second half to secure the victory. When was the last time we won two overtime games in a row? Go Rhody!

With both games being on the road to ranked opponents. Villanova was #6, Albany was #18. I don't think that has ever happened.

Have to be honest, 18 feels a little soft. Go on the road and beat the number 6 team, land just outside of the top 25, ok, guess they want to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Follow that up with beating number 18 on the road, it feels like we should be ranked somewhere between 10-15

Game write up from the Hens Board.......
Delaware at Rhode Island - big game
Post Sun Mar 21, 2021 10:14 am
What a big game this has turned out to be as undefeated Delaware will travel to Rhode Island this Saturday to take on the transfer laden 2 for OT Rams. The Hen’s first time traveling anywhere for almost 1.5 years, so that is an issue the staff will have to deal with, we’ve played so well and focused in our home element. That’s a long bus ride too, if in fact we are busing, but who cares as long as we get there.
We all know about our Hens, so I’m going to breeze it up about Rhode Island… the tiniest state in the land
In QB Kasim Hill, they have a leader, at 235 pounds looks a bit hefty but didn’t look slow when he zipped in from 24 yards yesterday for the win against Albany.
The Maryland transfer (HJ remembers his FBS games) started the first 10 games at Maryland as a Freshman before getting hurt including a big win vs Texas…. He brings swag and attitude to the Rams and has shown he likes to run his mouth, after the win at Nova he wasn’t bashful and unleashed a verbal tirade towards the Nova bench, no handshake were exchanged after that game but a few Birds were flipped.
Yesterday Albany was bringing pressure all day and Hill took some hits, as noted by Henny, he was visibly limping around for a lot the game and had to come out early, but I should also note Rhode used the second string QB for a few series vs Nova as well. Hill always finds a way to come back in though.
His biggest target is # 84, (Ebony and) Ivory (sully) Frimprong (nice name) who at 6’3” and full of muscle (down under) and pretty athletic pulled in 8 catches for 122 yards at Nova and had an outstanding TD Catch yesterday, he can go up and get the ball in the RZ…. A threat.
R-Freshman RB Kevin Brown, a transfer from the mighty UMass…, had a big day vs Nova himself with 4 TD’s and 141 rushing yards, a combination of power and deceptive speed evidenced by his 61 yard scamper in week 1.
While Nova was playing a 3 man front with wide gaps that seemed to play right into Brown’s hands as he was able to get past the LOS untouched in that game building up some momentum to crack some Kitty LB’s, he brings contact to the D. Albany played to stop that and bottled him up for most the day, the thing is you might have him bottled up for 3 Qtrs and all of the sudden he will break off a big run, he has some talent.
On Defense, one thing that stood out is # 14, he was targeted by Albany and is the weak link, I can see us going after him as well, Pitts should pull down a few nice catches on this guy. The safeties are physical and had a big day vs all CAA Undercuffler yesterday, but he is not mobile like Henderson.
The Rhode D is physical and played well vs Albany but Nova found a way to break off several big plays against these guys. Besides, our OC will easily find a way to attack this RI Defense, Jared Ambrose has been very good in the first 2 games especially throwing the ball to the RB’s….very nice game plans so far Mr Ambrose.
I think they can potentially bottle up our run game so let’s give the ball to Henderson and let him work some magic through the air. Lee up the middle is not the play I want to see, but a little 3 yard dump off pass to Lee works. Use De Maille some more, Pitts detroys # 14 and let’s get Townsend a few more touches. It should be mentioned that Coleman has been great so far and always seems to find an extra 6 yards after the catch.
Some opinions:
The CAA is not getting any better
Stony Brook is a bad football team and might not win a game
Maine was a bad football team but suddenly looked better after they left Newark
Rhode Island best team by far we have played this year
Delaware Defense totally dominated Maine and Stony
Trying to gauge how this all comes together on Saturday is anyone’s guess but I will say I think our Defense is just that good and if they play to their potential again on Saturday, Delaware wins. The wild card will be the away factor and that pesky cocky crap talking QB who finds a way to win.
Key to the game will be to jump out in front early and keep it coming, demoralize these guys and don’t let them back in the game because if it's a close game, Rhode will have just as good a chance as us.
Also, make sure we don’t get caught up in all the verbal baiting RI will do, stay focused and don’t worry about all the smart azz New Englander attitudes….
Hens will show us that they are for real and improve to 3-0, hopefully convincingly but I'm not convinced of that

Delaware misses a 51 yard FG. While their kicker appears to have a real strong leg, it's their second missed long FG attempt, giving URI solid field position.

Rams respond with a big play by Ed Lee from the arm of Brandon Robinson, taking the ball down inside the 1. Lee remained down, and had to be helped off the field. He appeared to be holding his right shoulder. Delaware takes over at the start of the 4th up 28-14.

Agreed. LBs missed way to many tackles (again). Stewart needs to stay in the game. The the linebacker rotations make no sense 35/58 struggle in the run game, they’re usually out of position, blocked or today whiff completely on tackles. Yet they’re getting equal snaps as Steward & Blackett.
OC also needs to be more creative in the pass game. With Lee hurt, it’s going to be a challenge for guys to get open. Move Frimpong around, put him in the slot. He should never go catch-less.

There was a noticeable drop off when Stewart wasn’t in. He needs to play every down. And you can’t throw 2 balls all game to your best wideout unless they had Deion Sanders on him and I wasn’t aware. Their O line looked like monsters against our front 7.
