We would be better off if Daly was playing. Bad shooting percentage.

Re: 1/3 | Saint Joseph’s | 4:30PM (NBCSN)
Ranked #51 in A10 in FG% at only 40.6%
Ranked #51 in A10 in 3PFG% at an atrocious 17.4% hitting only 4-23.
He’s a scorer, a gunner, a ball hog, he is not a shooter.
If I thought Daly was playing I’d have bet twice as much on URI (-12) today than I already did.
Points scored per game is a deceptive number - scoring efficiency is the key.

Re: 1/3 | Saint Joseph’s | 4:30PM (NBCSN)
He’s not the best player on his team by accident (efficiency aside). The other guys on his team would have even worse shooting % if they HAD to take as many shots as himramster wrote: ↑3 years agoRanked #51 in A10 in FG% at only 40.6%

Stats don’t always make a sound argument. Daly is dangerous.

I’ll take Bishop all day long before Daly.

Re: 1/3 | Saint Joseph’s | 4:30PM (NBCSN)
He is a terrible shooter.
But he scores a lot of points because he takes a ton of shots.
But most sportswriters and fans love the points per game statistic.

You’re aware we’re talking about St Joes right? Take a look at the stats of the other players on the roster. The hawks aren’t feeding Ryan Daly the ball over Jordan and Lebron. He’s the best shooter they have.

Not the best shooter
28-69 FG = 40.6% 51st in A10
4-23 3FG = 17.4% 51st in A10 (worse than Russell’s 21%)
26-37 FT = 68.4%

Re: 1/3 | Saint Joseph’s | 4:30PM (NBCSN)
Throw any stat you want out there. When I watch St. Joes it's obvious who the best player is
Last season we played them twice. In the first game, Daly dropped 21, 7 rebs, 3 assists. We went down at half but ended up winning by 10. In the second game, Daly didn't play, and we won by 18. Their high scorer had 10 pts.

Re: 1/3 | Saint Joseph’s | 4:30PM (NBCSN)
Wrong. He actually has the highest career FG% of any guard on their rosterramster wrote: ↑3 years agoBest scorerKingstonLane wrote: ↑3 years agoYou’re aware we’re talking about St Joes right? Not the best shooter
Daly - 42.5%
Bishop - 31%
Forrest - 39%
Foster - 25%
Moore - 38.9%
Brown - 40.5%
And to do that at the volume he does for them? Wildly impressive

Good then - I’ll bite.
We should demolish St Joe’s today well beyond what I originally thought
Without their best player my 12 points will be “taking candy from a baby”
I just tripled my bet

Daly ruled out but Point Spread has stayed at 12.

They may be 0-6 but not exactly a cupcake schedule, only bad loss was to Drexel
Others include Auburn in OT, Kansas, Tennessee, Villanova, and VCU.
We shouldn't take any team lightly and they do play us tough.
We need a convincing win here to boost our confidence.

They especially looked good against Auburn. If they make threes they can be difficult.

I would have loved to see us roll out a small lineup and match Joes here, see what it looks like. This starting lineup feels so rigid.

Re: 1/3 | Saint Joseph’s | 4:30PM (NBCSN)
Agreed these turnovers are beyond painful, but in all reality they’re so bad I’m not even sure how to “coach” them. And it isn’t isolated to one person so not like you can just bench that player eithertheblueram wrote: ↑3 years ago We sure can make bad teams look good. Good to see we addressed turnovers.

As expected by everyone except Cox apparently, when Ish comes in good things happen. Yet he seems to only be inserted into the game when we're already behind.

The announcer said it best. "With two of Joes best scorers out, it's totally unacceptable that URI is giving up so many layups."

......at what point do the announcers, some fans, etc give up on the reason for the sloppy play etc is all the new players, all the transfer etc have to get used to each other.....game 11, 12,......15..?

And nevermind the fact they've played great team basketball for stretches in the first handful of games. So it's not like they haven't shown what this team is capable of.section(105) wrote: ↑3 years ago ......at what point do the announcers, some fans, etc give up on the reason for the sloppy play etc is all the new players, all the transfer etc have to get used to each other.....game 11, 12,......15..?

Like these past 3 possessions, great teamwork and ball movement. Why does it feel like we can only count these possessions on one hand every game?
