At least they spelled Ish's name right in this one.

That... is a fine looking backcourt right there. I have no doubt that will be the backcourt of the future here at Rhody, with maybe another PG and Malik on the wing. Add another wing for depth and shooting.

When are the recruiting sites updated? I heard a rumor that 247 was updating last week but I didn’t see any movement for Ish. Just curious.

Wow! So glad Ish is alright! The shooter must've unloaded about half a clip. Hope Ish stays safe!

Another high character recruit! He seems really focused. It must be tough for the players being stuck at home.

Very impressive kid.
Cant get over that he commutes basically an hour each way to school. I went to public high school in a town that is literally 1 square mile and still ended up late more often than should be acceptable.
That alone shows the kind dedication and drive he has.

I'm very excited for Ish to get to URI. Overall, i really enjoyed the interview. However, I wish Chris gave Ish a few more chances to hype up the team. Ish and his family have appeared to be very excited to be a Ram for a very long time. Would have been great to see the interview feed off that excitement a bit more.

I guess I'm a little shell shocked still by the recent flurry of transfers so I feel compelled to say, I really, really hope Ish stays here for his whole college career! Great interview! He comes across as centered and intelligent, makes you feel he has a very high ceiling. Can't wait to see him develop/hone his skills as a member of the Rhody MBB team!

Re: '20 DC SG - Ishmael Leggett (Rhode Island Commit)
Also, let me say, I like how Chris and Ish avoided the subject of the shooting/bullet dodging incident. If you notice it is mentioned in a very subtle way, Disano, I believe, accidentally opens the door by asking what else has been going on with Ish during the pandemic, they both pause for the briefest of moments, both realizing it's not a can of worms they want to open, Chris comments about how the competition is getting very intense, Ishmael is right there with him and just agrees. Very smart exchange, which we expect from Disano because we know a little about him, but now we are starting to get a clear picture of Leggett as a quick thinker who comes across as an individual beyond his years in wisdom.
Don't want to get ahead of myself knowing there are soooo many variables and I'm not doing that super high expectation, super easy to get let down thing, when I say, I think when all is said and done Ish has a chance to be mentioned among some of the programs best. Obviously that's some ways off, but I can see him at least getting to the PMurph/E.C. Math level if not higher. Watching his interviews and BB highlights, I see an athletic, smart, hardworking player with great instincts and awareness.

I'd love to have him here for 4 years also, but wouldn't mind if he left after his junior year as a 1st round NBA draft pick .Running Ram wrote: ↑4 years ago I guess I'm a little shell shocked still by the recent flurry of transfers so I feel compelled to say, I really, really hope Ish stays here for his whole college career! FYI Chris interviewed Ish for this piece the day before the incident took place.Running Ram wrote: ↑4 years ago Also, let me say, I like how Chris and Ish avoided the subject of the shooting/bullet dodging incident. Hope so. Much needed after Dowtin being gone. They need a good floor general.

Interested to hear what other people are thinking so far of Leggs play. Personally I think he’s looked really good other than a couple bad fouls but show me a player on the roster without a few bad fouls and I’ll show you a player 0 minutes.

He looks like he should be playing outside linebacker for the football team. I thing he will be a solid player for us for the next 4/5 years.

He is an excellent player, played on an outstanding High School Team/Program in St John's College
Would not surprise me if he gets into the starting line-up before the season is over.

Cracking the starting 5 may be tough, but wouldnt suprise me. When the year is wrapped up i bet he is averaging close to 20 min a game.

I like what I see. I don’t know if he’ll start unless there’s an injury but he’ll get enough PT to make him really tough next year.

Re: '20 DC SG - Ishmael Leggett (Rhode Island Commit)
Tonight, with his performance vs Seton Hall, I’m thinking more confidently that he will enter the starting line up this season. He’s too Good a player, has the shooting touch, defensive ability and poise beyond what a Freshman typically demonstrates.
Will be tougher and tougher to keep him out of a starting role, I think.

I agree that he will play like a starter - I think he comes off the bench this year though. Passing Fatts and Jeremy is a tough task.

I don’t think Ish will start a game this year unless an injury to Fatts or Shep
What a recruit though going to be a run ride with him

Leggett is better than he has demonstrated to date. I saw him several times in AAU high level competition in his JR and SR years. He will continue to push for more and more playing time.

Couldn’t stop myself from jumping off the couch and yelling “YOO LEGGGGS” every time he made a play last night.
Always exciting to see young talent ballin out early and against good competition. I feel like him being the first guard off the bench makes us more dangerous than him in the starting 5.

Our 21-22 starting PG. And before that he is going to make a big impact this year. Plays like an upperclassmen already.
