Stand alone games, meaning they would normally be at those schools or at the RC?
They will be at the Mohegan Sun.
Sources: Rhode Island will play stand alone games at Mohegan Sun against both Stephen F. Austin and Towson in addition to competing in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off.
This is just like Iona announced earlier they would be playing 4 games at Mohegan Sun.
There will be 30+ teams playing MTE’s at the Mohegan Sun. COVID 19 prevention will be a strong emphasis.
Anyone catch that it looks like Minnesota is pulling out of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off? Lame. I hope they are replaced with a worthy team. No longer on HOF Tip-Off website either.
I heard PC is finalizing its plans to play St. Puis CYO midget team, it should be an Q4 game which they need since that have such a tough schedule and as an added bonus no travel since they are across street. St. Puis is so much closer than URI and its important to limit travel in these covid 19 times.

Our proximity and relationship with Mohegan Sun definitely paying off. Is there a possibility they will allow fans in the upper sections?

Anticipate RJ coming on espousing the merits of the St. Pius team, citing their exciting CYO championship finish in 2018 over the Sisters of the Poor B team.

It was actually their C team that St. Pius beat. The underdog story of the tournament came to an end. St. Pius ran up a big halftime lead and never looked back. They also had a big 6-2 win at halftime of a PC game last year against St. Rocco's

So I am assuming these on 11-25 and 11-26? Which makes the tentative schedule so far:
11-25: Towson/SFA
11-26: Towson/SFA
11-28: Temple/VT
11/29: Temple/VT
12/2: Seton Hall
12/4: Boston College
12/19: WKU
Really not bad considering.
They're really hitting the ground running. Knowing that they need time for exams, I think there's only room for two more games max. One between 12/4 and 12/19, and one between 12/19 and the start of conference play.

Six games in 10 days, great that we have more depth this year and (hopefully) not have tired legs by the Seton Hall and BC games

Has the A10 announced plans for a start date? Many conferences starting or looking to start conference play 2-3 weeks early to add additional time if games need to be rescheduled due to COVID. I know the last few years A10 play has started the first weekend in January for URI. If they did that this year, that gives them approximately 9 weeks from start of conference play to end of conference play, which is 2 games per week. That's a tough ask.
I think if they are smart they'll try to start conference play 12/22 & 12/23, which could allow for 2 scheduled games before the recent first weekend in January start time. It would also build in an extra 2 weeks to the schedule, that when combined with the existing 1 week off, would give 3 extra weeks to move games around if necessary.

Nothing official yet. I think I remember reading a Goodman post that he heard it will remain an 18 game conference schedule with the first game being December 30.
It's a shame that the A10 hasn't been able to figure out a 20 game schedule this year, especially when the upper tier teams are having difficulties scheduling quality opponents.

Not to mention the A10 is deeper than usual. So adding two more conference games should be welcomed.
URI's MTE tournament at Mohegan Sun has gotten worse over time. Will now face two AAC teams. Rhody is the only team left from the original four headliners.
Yeah definitely not ideal at all. Only bright spot is the USF addition is definitely an upgrade over UCF (who we would have had to play if we lost to marquette). But replacing Marquette with USF/temple is not ideal

Is it possible that URI could move the @Boston College Game to Mohegan for Covid Safety Purposes and travel simplicity?

Wouldn't that decision be up to Boston College as it is their home game?
Yes, I did not mean to insinuate that URI would own the decision. Boston College is already playing at Mohegan so it could make sense to play the game there. Consider too that there may not be fans allowed at the Conte Center.
More and more games are moving towards MTE's and Neutral Sites - minimizing Covid exposure and minimizing travel costs are also important as Universities need to reduce costs in this environment.

Perhaps BC could be enticed to move the game to Mohegan Sun by extending the series to three games. Mohegan and then H&H at Chestnut Hill and Kingston. BC would not have to host a game with no fans.

That's a lot of potential games for one court to handle in one day (Nov 25th)...

You could have two afternoon and two evening games, I suppose, at noon, 3, 6, and 9. You don’t have to worry about ticketing. Just make sure the showers and locker rooms are sanitized between games.
This says up to seven games could be played per day. That’s hard to imagine with a single court. They’ll be playing in the morning, too.
Agreed, that would be lunacy -- Think of a 7 game schedule, 2:05 minutes to play, 25 minutes prep for next game. Games would be going from like 9 AM - 2:30 AM, not factoring in any games going long or extra cleaning protocols. Yikes!! Even 6 games would be tough.
This article describes that there won't be just one court. They are utilizing their exposition center to turn into a practice facility with courts and some games will also be played on that court. I am sure the majority will be played in the arena but other games will be played in the courts in the modified expo center.

This was published by CBS back in September as Mohegan was rolling out their proposal
The initial game schedule has tip-offs at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. -- all times Eastern and "a national television partner would broadcast the event."
So 3 MTE's over 3 days represents 12 games. 4 games per day.
Sure, but I think Sevegny mentioned it above, there would have to be some alternate accommodations because already it's been reported that on November 25th, there is:
Villanova/Arizona St
Baylor/BC
Florida/Maine or St. Peter's
Virginia/Maine or St. Peter's
Now it's reported URI is playing Stephen F Austin on the 25th. That's up to 5 games. Who knows what's going on with that other reported MTE. An alternate facility at least makes some sense.

I guess I didn’t read this closely enough. Nor did I realize they had a location for a second court. I’ve been there for a few concerts and games and have never seen the exposition center.
