Re: '21 GA PG - Andrew McConnell (Offer)
Really like this kid, smart with the ball and an outstanding shooter. I could see his recruitment picking up big time, and our interest level in him also growing. Would love to see us secure a commitment from him before many of the big schools step in. This maybe difficult because of the distance and not sure of our connections in that region (Ga). He jumped to the top of my wish list, now that we have Samb.

Re: '21 GA PG - Andrew McConnell (Offer)
Article from Hoopseen....a couple of excepts:
"He shot 38% from three and you can tell so many of them are contested from the film that I sent you. He made 100 threes this season on the nose which is the second highest mark for a single season in Gwinnett County History trailing only former Berkmar High School and Ga Tech star Tony Aiken."
According to coach Mayweather, there is a wide range of schools involved in his recruitment. Georgia, Clemson, Wofford, Middle Tennessee State, Charleston Southern, Ga State, Kennesaw State, and Navy are all involved and tracking his progress along the way. When looking at the guards in Georgia's 2021 class, McConnell's off the dribble shooting rivals that of Tri-Cities guard Peyton Daniels and Chattahoochee's AJ White.

He seems to fit in the mold of Jeremy Sheppard after looking at his freshman clips at East Carolina.

Sheppard may be quicker, but not sure on a different level. From what I watched on McConnell he seemed very quick on the fast break and made excellent passes, some no-look. Also on many occasions he beat his defender off the dribble to the basket because they had to respect his shot. I think he will be fun to watch and put up good stats wherever he ends up.

Re: '21 GA PG - Andrew McConnell (Offer)
Came across this from 9/16:
OFFERS RACKING UP FOR HOT SHOOTER ANDREW MCCONNELL
Justin Young September 16, 2020
Shot-makers will always shine in hoops. No matter the level, no matter the stage, guys who can knock down shots will always find a way to be on the floor in clutch situations. That’s certainly the case for Andrew McConnell of Lanier (GA) HS/Team Huncho.
The class of 2021 guard is one of the best knockdown shooters there is in the Peach State. His scoring touch from the wing was one of the most impressive offensive weapons we saw during the summer.
We value his skill so much, McConnell checks in at No. 13 overall in our HoopSeen Georgia senior rankings.
A number of schools have already offered him a scholarship. McConnell said he holds scholarships from Charleston Southern, East Tennessee, Florida International, Kennesaw State, Jacksonville, James Madison, Louisiana, Presbyterian, Rhode Island, Siena, Stetson and UNC Greensboro.
He’s been to Kennesaw State already for a visit and there are plans to visit Charleston Southern, UNC Greensboro and James Madison. McConnell added that he is “still working on plans to visit schools that aren't as close.”
Suffice it to say, McConnell is one of the most popular mid-level guards in the South’s 2021 class. His value shined through with the talented Team Huncho squad during the 2020 travel season.
With Sion James now at Tulane, the leadership role now falls on McConnell, who is in store for an all-state level senior year at Lanier High School.

Not as locked in as DC, but I am hoping for us. I really like this kid based on all I have seen and heard. I think we got on him before many of the big boys stepped in, but not sure how our staff prioritizes him compared to Nunn and Allen. I guess we will find out on Wednesday.

On to the next recruit (wasn't sure of our staff's interest level in McConnell), still thinking guard possibly Allen or Nunn. Of the two , I prefer Nunn but probably most optimistic about Allen. We have been on him the longest and has visited here.
