Re: 3/1 | Saint Louis | 2:00PM (ESPNU)
UD fans on their board really know the game, and they are generally classy compared to certain others on other boards.
That's why I consider Dayton to be my 2nd favorite A10 team to of course us.
Hope they go far in the big show. Final Four is a real possibility.
Could their success this year help their chances to move up conference wise?
Best A10 program hands down, with us and VCU rounding out the top 3 imo.

Re: 3/1 | Saint Louis | 2:00PM (ESPNU)
The results of today's games for both bubble teams and the A10 have made this game an ABSOLUTE must win for URI, it doesn't get any clearer than that. SLU has a legit shot for the 4 seed and have everything to play for, the pressure is all on URI tmrw. SLU has the best of the remaining schedule between Duquesne & Bonas, they've been an awful road team but this game gives me great concern, I dont have a good feeling about how we've been playing and were dinged up. Nothing is ever easy with this team, we are going to need our stars to play like stars in order to win.

I know it feels more like a formality at this point, but a win tomorrow clinches the double bye

Which we might have to.
Cyril and Jeff have to be close to 100% if we are to win this game.
And hopefully not be too beat up after doing so.
Which is tough playing a football team masquerading as a basketball team.

I too have always liked Dayton. Us having a lot of success against them has helped, otherwise they are just likeable.

Re: 3/1 | Saint Louis | 2:00PM (ESPNU)
SLU improves shooting past 5 games
“I don’t know if I can pinpoint it, but I’ve seen the numbers,” Ford said. “I think it’s that we’re passing the ball better. It’s what we call making passes on time, on target. It’s the right passes at the right time where guys can finish shots that are good for them. One thing I’ve talked about — over-emphasized — is to share the ball. There’s no reason to take tough shots unless the shot clock is under eight.”
The dramatic increase in accuracy has come during a stretch that has seen SLU take fewer 3-pointers overall but shoot them at a decent percentage. In fact, the Billikens are in a three-way tie for the best 3-point shooting in league games.

They improved shooting, but they did it mostly at home and lost on the road to UMass so it can’t have been that improved...

Re: 3/1 | Saint Louis | 2:00PM (ESPNU)
Huge game for Seeding Implications including the 4 Important Byes
Remaining Games:
1-Dayton: @URI, George Washington
2-URI: Dayton, @UMASS
3-Richmond: Davidson, @Duquesne
4-Duquesne: @VCU, Richmond
5-St Bonaventure: St Joseph’s, @Saint Louis
6-Saint Louis: @George Mason, St Bonaventure
7-Davidson: @Richmond, VCU
8-VCU: Duquesne, @Davidson
If URI loses today, then lose Dayton it puts huge pressure on the @UMASS game especially if Saint Louis wins their last 2 @GMU and Bonnies at home.

Saint Louis heads to Rhode Island on Sunday for a crucial matchup involving two 20-win teams and Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Basketball Championship seeding implications.
The Billikens and Rams tip at 1 p.m. (CT) on ESPNU. Mike Corey and Mark Plansky will call the action. The radio broadcast will be carried on 101 ESPN. As always, Billiken Hall of Famers Bob Ramsey and Earl Austin Jr. will be on the radio call.
Saint Louis is 20-8 overall, 9-6 in the A-10. The Billikens enter the weekend in a three-way tie for fifth in the league standings with Duquesne (the Dukes host George Mason on Saturday) and Davidson (the Wildcats play at Dayton on Friday).
Rhode Island enters the game 20-7 overall and 12-3 in the league. The Rams are in second place all alone in the league standings.
The top four teams in the A-10 receive a double bye into Friday's action at the 2020 A-10 Championship, giving them a path of having to win three games in three days for the title. Seeds 5-10 begin the Championship on Thursday. Seeds 11-14 begin play on Wednesday.

4 // The Billikens have shot 50 percent or better from the field in four straight A-10 games for the first time in school history.
5 // Over the last four games, Javonte Perkins is shooting 66.7 percent from the field (30-45), 66.7 percent from 3-point range (10-15) and 82.6 percent from the line (19-23).

To surf’s point, they averaged 64 points in their two road games in their last 5 games and 80 in their three home games in that stretch. If we keep them in the 60s today then I like URI’s chances.ramster wrote: ↑4 years ago4 // The Billikens have shot 50 percent or better from the field in four straight A-10 games for the first time in school history.

Doubt it Billyboy.
People shouldn't panic over this.
People who have severe underlying health conditions should be careful though.
I mean, what are we to do, crawl under a rock until this passes?
It's not a death sentence for the vast majority of us.
I mean, the regular flu has the same risks.

Also when he is having a strong defensive game.
Last 2 games Russell only had 1 steal in each. He is averaging 2.8 steals per game. Would be great if he could have a game with 7 steals as he did vs VCU or 5 steals which he did vs WVU, Middle Tennessee and Nichols State.
Getting steals often sets up a breakaway for an easy confidence building layup. Steals excite Russell and boost his overall game. He has very quick hands and excellent anticipation.
Russell will be paired against Freshman Yuri Collins. Collins has had 7 and 12 assists his last 2 games. He stirs the drink for SLU. Russell needs to dominate the Freshman today offensively and defensively.

I think the death rate so far from this, is about 3%, which is similar to the regular flu.
Most of those who have died, especially in China, had poor care or had other health problems before contracting the virus.
However it's affected our huge business with China and is causing the stock market to take a dive.
This too, will pass.

Back to the game, we need to share the ball a LOT more than we've been doing lately.
When Fatts has only 1 assist, that's not going to get it done.
Firing up a lot of 3's against St. Louis is a recipe for a loss.

83.2% probability for URI to win and URI -6 points feels too high to me
I’ll just be very happy for a victory of any size. This is a very critical game for us.

Woke up feeling really good about this one today, which is rare, so maybe thats a bad thing? But we're coming off a tough stretch of 4 out of 5 games on the road and we did enough to tread water through it. Now back at home for a couple of big games. I'm gonna say it, we're going 3-0 to end the season!

I think 65 points wins this game. I wouldn’t be shocked if 60 wins it. Pack the paint and the guards need to help on the glass. I’m expecting an ugly, rugby scrum. I hope Cyril’s shoulder holds up: he will be tested.TruePoint wrote: ↑4 years agoTo surf’s point, they averaged 64 points in their two road games in their last 5 games and 80 in their three home games in that stretch. I know absolutely nothing about Cyril's injury outside of what has been reported, but I was at least a little encouraged by it being described as a bruise last week. Hopefully that means it comes down to a pain threshold thing, because I ain't worried about that when it comes to Cyril. I'm sure he'll be limited, but I'd bet he is out there for 30+ minutes today (barring foul trouble of course).
