Re: Week #17 - Games of Interest
St. Joe's edges Fordham, 73-69. Fordham was down 16 points with less than four minutes to play and began an amazing run to get within two, but they just ran out of time. Ryan Daly was game's top scorer with 21 points.

LaSalle beats the Bonnies. Osi with an underwhelming 11-5 star line.

Re: Week #17 - Games of Interest
Another exciting finish in the A-10, as La Salle upsets St. Bonaventure, 73-65. Explorers led by 19 points at one point and held off a SBU rally to even their record at 14-14.

Baylor down 8 against TCU under 2 min left. Dayton could be #3 in the polls coming into the Ryan Center.

Yes , VCU is at 60 NET so it is still a quad 1 win as long as they remain 75 or better in NET . Not likely to drop 15 spots .

Syracuse...who my son always tells me "isn't good" looks to be right. Down 16...to this-year-UNC ? Good grief.
A friend just texted that the Orange have 'em right where they want 'em and UNC will wilt in the 2nd half. I guess that's just as possible.
Reef, I think maybe PC is our quad 1, but not sure (or care) enough to check. It's just a number. Win the games, we'll be fine.

PC will not become a Q1 win unless they win the Big East tournament.

No idea what's up with Jenkins but Mike Rhoades was very emotional after the game. I'm no VCU fan but gotta feel for them. Really good team win.

And ETSU with a furious comeback after being down the whole game.
Gotta hope they win their conference tournament or else they’ll be getting an at large.

Re: Week #17 - Games of Interest
I've come to the ultimate conclusion that I dislike UMass even more than VCU...
Never thought that could happen. I now have sympathy for VCU, and their troublesome season.
As long as UMass has that toolbox Bergeron, they will be my most despised A10 Team. And now they just picked up the Shea High School recruit because of Slick Bergeron. I wonder how much longer Matt McCall is the "Head Coach"

Love those Rams is referring to Dyondre Dominguez who announced for UMASS today. Dominguez played for Tolman in Pawtucket, not Shea. We have to hope McCall continues to suck as a coach, because Mitchell is a beast.

USC over Arizona St.
Beat Dayton, or A10 final is a necessity (which may not even be enough.)
Besides Dayton, we just don’t have the games that’ll move the needle.

I dont care what the numbers say, Arizona stinks. Great job, Arizona. This is the worst 3 minutes of basketball I’ve ever seen.

You keep saying this, and it’s just as dumb every time you say it. We don’t need to move the needle. We are in the field. We need to not screw up.

I mean, we do need to move the needle.
Come Monday, we’ll barely be in (if we beat St Louis.) We stay stagnant, and other teams will jump us with better wins, along with bid stealers shrinking the bubble.

Re: Week #17 - Games of Interest
So because of three minutes, the 11th Ranked NET team stinks.
The Pac 12 (which has one of the two teams
Who has beaten Dayton) is now overrated along with the Big East.
Man, how delusional are we?

Was not a good day for us with regards to the bubble though Utah St losing lately helped a bit
TP said it right just keep winning and holding serve any loss is going to hurt us bad
If we do lose to Dayton we definitely need to get to the A-10 finals and hope that’s good enough

Some bubble teams will win and others will lose.
There has been a lot of ink spilled on how Arizona’s NET ranking is an indictment of the system, or at least is evidence of its flaws. There’s no way you can watch that team multiple times and come away thinking you’re watching the 11th best team in the country.

But I’d hardly say there has been a lot of ink questioning NET on Keaney Blue - here the NET is the gospel
It’s going to be a very interesting Tournament Selection Process this Season
Interesting how the NET doesn’t list OOC Road Games. Because there would hardly be any for the P5 and BE Cartel Conferences
The P5 and BE Conferences are not held to much, if any, negative impact from playing most all of their OOC games on their home court or in at most neutral sites with most neutral sites in remote locations in November with very small crowds. Then they use their Home Court and Neutral Court beefed up NETs to impact their Conference NETs. The PAC12 and BE Individual NETs just get better and better as Conference Play goes on.
So when NCAA Tournament Time comes around these teams often get knocked off by Mid Majors who are not really 11th or 12th caliber seeds, and the Mid Majors are used to playing Road Games in front of hostile crowds because it’s the only way they can play a P5 or BE Team - with few exceptions.
Look at these NET Rankings with the associated Team Records. No wonder Vitale went off on the absurdity of a Purdue’s NET on Friday Night

Yes it’s how it’s always been in some conferences you get 10 teams that are top 100 NET
The bottom of the A-10, always brings the league down that’s what sucks about being a mid major

Biggest Day of the season!!
Not only do we need the win today, but almost all the bubble teams that didn’t play yesterday are in action and two others have huge games on a Tuesday
Xavier at Georgetown
Indiana at Illinios
Cincinnati at Houston
Wichita State at SMU
Colorado at Stanford
Tuesday
Purdue at Iowa
Maryland at Rutgers

Re: Week #17 - Games of Interest
Ah yes, my scenario from last week is coming true. I’m glad since now I can just copy and paste it...
It's the same cryfest every year...
"___ barely ever plays true road games during OOC. It's not fair."
"Well how many Q1 or Q2 road games did they play during conference?"
"9, but you are missing the point, they didn't play the little guys and it's not fair."
"So they played 1 true Q1 roadgame during the OOC, played 2 other Q1/Q2 games on a neutral court, and played 9 Q1/Q2 games on the road during conference play, plus probably another 2-3 on a neutral court during the conference tournament, but they should be penalized and forced to play more road games against teams like you?"
"Exactly. We deserve our chances too. I don't care that they play 12 Q1/Q2 games away from home and more in the conference tournament, it's just not fair."
"Well how many Q1/Q2 games did you play on the road during conference play?"
"4, but you are missing the point?"
"So they play 9 Q1/Q2 games on the road during conference play, and you play 4, and you are saying they should come play games at your house because you always have to play there, even though they go on the road and play 2x+ the Q1/Q2 opponents during conference play?"
"Exactly!!! Now you get it!"
