Davidson +10.5 points
Can Davidson pull the upset? They can get hot shooting at times.
Brown -1 point
Big game for Brown as they are currently in 4th place, Princeton in 3rd.

I'm not sure who on Davidson is going to be able to guard Obi. Could be a monster game from him tonight.

As a frame of reference, Duquesne opened its season by handing Princeton a 27 point drubbing, 94-67.

If this game was in NC and not Ohio, Davidson May have had a chance. They don’t have the weapons to stick with Dayton on the road.

Toppin going crazy with Dunks
Dick Vitale going nuts over Toppins Dunks!!
Joe Lunardi not looking so smart since prior to the game tonight he showed Dayton as a 2-seed (1st of the 2-seeds).
Dayton is looking spectacular. Announcers are all amazed by Toppin. They Just compared 6’9” Toppin side by side to 6’9” Kenyon Martin.

Re: Week #17 - Games of Interest
With the win over Davidson, Dayton now brings its 27-2 record and a no worse than a #4 national ranking into the Ryan center on Wednesday. If that does not rev up this team, URI students and the URI fan base, nothing will!

◘QUIZ OF THE WEEK comes from Journal sales rep Ralph Medici: Who was the last four-year college player to be taken first in the NBA Draft? (Answer near the bottom of the column.)
Answer Kenyon Martin
Same guy Vitale compared Toppin to last night

Dayton made 27-28 2pt shot attempts last night. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anything like that.

Uh oh, Turgeon on Gameday just said he hopes the fans are “liquored up” tonight for their game against Michigan St.

PC up 12 at half.
If we lose to Dayton, Anything less than an A10 finals
Birth and we’re in the NIT.
All these teams have more opportunities to get Q1 wins.

Re: Week #17 - Games of Interest
I know we beat them, but PC is a different team rn and I would probably say the more deep and better team at this point of the season. Irritating but our lack of depth has really caught up to us these last few games.

Re: Week #17 - Games of Interest
Agree pc has improved but come on Villanova has 31 points in 30 minutes. How good are these big East teams really. Watch some of these games don't see it.. whatever.. we are where we are and do the best we can.. win at least 3 out of last 4 hopefully . I take 23-8 anytime.. screw this net nonsense

Once again we will see how Big East teams do in the tournament. Other than Nova, most underplay their seeding.

Texas about to hop onto the bubble nesting Texas Tech.
A10 finals trip may not be enough, beating Dayton is looking like it’s necessary.

Although what an all time flop lol. He was forcing the ref to either call a travel or foul which was actually smart. PC had about a 10% chance of scoring with how deep in the shot clock it was when he was trapped.

Not for nothing, but did that Villanova team look like the 12th best college basketball team today? They couldn't score to save their lives today.

Yeah, #12 Villanova gets destroyed in their own building by a 16-12 team and everyone in the audience is about as calm as attendees at a dog show. Hmmm

Re: Week #17 - Games of Interest
I hate to say this because I thought he was a dog last year and was terrible for the majority of this year, but Pipkins is carrying PC into the tournament on his back with his play in their last few games. It was an ugly win, but I guess any quad 1 win is pretty, especially down the stretch.
We could use a similar effort from Fatts tomorrow.

Re: Week #17 - Games of Interest
We were talking about that here today, too. He carried them today for sure. When we played them, and he came into the game late 2nd half, I had to ask the people around me why he hadn't played yet. Turns out he started...who knew?JimSidd wrote: ↑4 years ago I hate to say this because I thought he was a dog last year and was terrible for the majority of this year, but Pipkins is carrying PC into the tournament on his back with his play in their last few games.
