A GM win would give us more breathing room for the 2 seed.

**Also hope alabama wins of course.
The 2 seed is irrelevant. We want to face the strongest Richmond team possible and beat them in the semis. It would possibly be a win over an NCAA tournament team and a satisfying revenge game.

I cant see a likely scenario where both teams, especially if they are 15-3 and meet in the conference tournament semis, find themselves as the last team in and first team out.

Re: Week #16 - Games of Interest
Pitiful coaching by Nate Oates in this Bama TX A&M game.
Bama had a 6 point lead in the last 3 minutes and A&M has gone on a 12 nothing run.
Oates didnt call a timeout until they were down by six. They were just jacking up three after three.
WHY WAIT TO CALL TIMEOUTS???

Is North Texas the only tournament team (in the field as of now) that we have beaten at this point in the season?

I hope some committee members are watching this game, 13 minutes without a basket for Georgetown.
They deserve to be nowhere near the bubble. Truly inept showing.

Re: Week #16 - Games of Interest
I don’t care if PC gets in or not. The college basketball season is not about PC for me. I wouldn’t vote for PC to go to the tournament if I was on the committee even if they were undefeated, because fuck them. But back here in reality what I care about is URI getting into the tournament - and at the beginning of the night Georgetown was bubble competition and PC wasn’t. Whether PC gets onto the bubble or not isn’t the key for me - if they get past URI in terms of position for a bid then URI has shit the bed.

URI doesn’t need PC to do well to help URI get in the Tournament or improve URI’s seed. I hope PC ends up just missing the Tournament so their fans can “what if” all offseason. PC will be a Q2 win for URI. They just moved to a 51 NET. They aren’t going to get to 30 or drop below 75.

How can you not care if PC wins or loses and say nobody here hates PC more than I do? And you can’t love URI and want PC to lose also?Rhody83 wrote: ↑4 years agoURI doesn’t need PC to do well to help URI get in the Tournament or improve URI’s seed. There are posters here that want PC to lose every game in every sport, men and women. Posters who despise the school, students and alumni. Who absolutely do not want PC in the NCAA Tournament in any way.
Sorry, but your own words say you are not at the top of the list of PC haters.
Back to Georgetown - what an atrocity of a game. Georgetown is poorly coached. They run a horrible offense and their defense is not good either.
7,371 attendance in the Capital Center that holds 20,173. The crowd was quiet and boring which was a perfect match for the game itself. 36.5% of capacity.
I thought watching the quality of play in the previous night VCU - Dayton game that the quality of play was easily comparable to the Big East. The atmosphere was electric, crazy, what College Basketball Tournament play should be about. Georgetown Providence did not have the level of talent and play execution that VCU Dayton had. The fans were electric and charged up for the sold out VCU Dayton game.
The President of “My Pillow” could sell a bunch of his pillows at PC Georgetown
No wonder St Johns is moving games back to Carnesecca Arena vs playing in Madison Square Garden.
College Basketball in the Northeast is best played in on campus arenas like the beautiful Ryan Center. These mega arenas that the Big East plays in a lot are just too big and too boring. Way too many empty seats.
Two Big East teams trying for NCAA bids with relatively high NET Rankings get only 7,371?? Late in the season like this? And it sure didn’t look like 7,371 on TV. Looked like a political rally where they greatly inflate the actual attendance.
Georgetown PC was just a very Boring game to watch

I think PC now has just about as many Q1 wins as we have total Q1 and Q2. Yes...I know they have some bad losses too.
But, despite the glee of many here, the fact that Davidson and St Louis lost a couple nights ago and Duquesne lost to GW last night is hurting URI in the quality win department. We now have 1 Q1 and 5 Q2. Those teams losing almost guarantees they will be Q3 wins for us at home and a Q2 win if we beat Davidson Saturday.
